This is a masterstroke by PMB. They kept it under wraps until now. This 'buys' Northern votes for whomever PMB supports to be President.

This country is a pure scam. The north are very tricky people. Just ordinary drilling, they are making it to look as if they have discovered a larger reservoir. For those of us who are ignorant about oil activities. Drilling is just one aspect of locating the oil, however in many cases, you can finish the drilling of the WELL without locating crude oil. You can also locate crude in some other cases , but it might not be up to commercial quantity. For now there is nothing to celebrate about. My prayer is that the well they are doing produce for them

100% correct at least the pressures on other oil wells would be lessened

Bauchi and Gombe become oil producing states like Saudi Arabia ,as the first official crude oil is extracted from the over 1 billion barrel crude reserve in Kolmani.

A 120,000bpd refinery will be built here . President Muhammadu Buhari made sure this became a reality....
This country is blessed. May we have the right leaders to exploit its potential for the good of everyone

You're right, but i think it's more than just 'access to the sea'! I feel they don't have the confidence to go it alone....but more importantly, they derive some kind of sick pleasure from holding on to the Igbo and using 'one Nigeria' to undermine them, as well as use other ethnicities human and natural resources to shine! Do you think if the Palestinians had the opportunity to hold on to the Israelis' in one country and be the 'dominant' ethnicity in said country, that they wouldn't? You see, it's got more to do with just sea access!

So we got Oil producing states in the north now, Federal government should adjust revenue formula to include Bauchi and Gombe states as oil producing states with immediate effect.
why the rush na? Let them drill it and start making money first na. They've been chopping other states own. Let the money go round first then FG can consider

Lol
Let them taste decades of oil spillage first, government triggered communal crisis and lose equivalents of Saro Wiwa etc
I don't think spillage will be an issue, it's a dry land not swampy like that of Niger Delta, though other forms of environment pollution will arise. And also people in Gombe and Bauchi axis don't drink Ogogoro and other stuffs which trigger them to fight and cause communal crisis.

Hydrocarbons cannot be found on dry arid regions,i suspect foul play here.
Since the regime of Babangida, till date, crude oil is still being explored in the CHAD BASIN without any success, the money successive regimes has wasted on this elephant project is enough to turn Nigeria to Dubai, this
was brought about by the desperation of the north to join the leagues of oil producing region/state.They fomed Boko Haram so they can be granted amnesty like the militants in the oil producing states in the south, now the hydra headed monster is now difficult to tame. The north should set their priorities right and stop pursuing shadows.
