Mikel and Messi played FIFA U17 and got to the finals. Messi was named the best player and I believe Mikel was second.

His personality has nothing to do with his football. How many footballers do we know in person aside what is being presented to us.?


Aside, its very difficult to be at that level of fame and not have ego..very hard to curtail. I think he did a good job with his career overall.

All this is because it did not work out well with his second coming. If it had same people would have gone. We knew it!

Mikel has won the UCL, CWC, league, all domestic cups and won Nations cup even before Ronaldo did.

Mikel has won the Europa league but Ronaldo hasn't.

those are team efforts, even players who did not play more than one game in those competitions but are part of the winning teams can claim to have won those trophies. What were his individual contribution and Stats in those competitions? How many assists? How many goals, how many games did he feature in? It is these individual contributions that will be used in determine the personal awards that will be awarded to them that is why, despite winning all these trophies he did not even win African footballer of the year.
