sonature1:Apt. Thanks for this. At least if we are seeing light and generators doesn't consume fuel than motors then they can remove the subsidy. The major reason why things are very expensive in Nigeria is due to poor power supply and it's even causing unemployment. |

alimiadedayo1: I'm afraid I do.....it is the difference between the production cost of fuel and the pump price set by government. Normally, the pump price should be higher than the production cost of fuel, like any business , but under subsidy regimen, the cost is lower. The money that the government pays to cover the resulting loss is the subsidy. if you don't know forex add up to the cost of fuel in Nigeria then they need to check and your scrutinize your certificates that is if you go to school It does, but that's part of the picture...the main issue is subsidy is too expensive to maintain long term. Because of subsides, the petrol sector cannot make enough profits to make refining fuel sustainable here...hence our reliance on imports. Thanks. and good morning. If you don't get it, I really cannot help you. |

Remove the subsidy completely then let's revalue our currency simple. The devaluation of our currency has not favoured us. Devaluation is meant for countries with beforehand powerful production base not dead production like Nigeria. Please it is not a crime to make a mistake but a crime to reject correction. |

sonature1: Have you seen the custom duty on solar panels? The government is wicked and doesn't care about her citizens. If they really want to solve power issues, the best thing to subsidize is solar panels. The more people leaves the grid, the more power we have. Leave fuel and subsidize renewable energy. No, they don't want because they benefit directly from the scam and corruption. Buhari met unstable power and he is leaving without doing anything about it So, what exactly did he come to aso rock to do? Let us vote Obi and watch him for 1yr please, if he fails too, tear the useless country. 2 Likes |

God1000: Unfortunately, it won't solve the problem if what Nigerians want is CHEAP FUEL. Cheap fuel means the fuel subsidy must continue. If the fuel subsidy continues, the economy will continue to stagnate. The choice is clear. |
