Most men would tell you they want a daughter as first child and same goes for me too. I was living my brother when his second child, a girl was born. She will be 8 by dec 16 and I don't live with them anymore but i still feel connected to her like a daughter.

Father and daughter love can hardly be explained.

Your kid (be it a male or female) owes you no grandchild. Also, none of your kid is obligated to cater or watch over his/her siblings. I only agree with your last sentence.

And you don't know that the above are also benefits of the last sentence, I don't expect any of my child to bear his or her siblings financial burdens if thats what you think I ment. I brought them to this world and by the special grace of the almighty I'm going to raise them.

Well, it's all right. At least, you don't have this flaw mentality about female kids. Many African men can go into polygamy because of a male kid. They even go to the extent of blaming the wife for not producing a male kid.

Congrats to her. Child birth is a thing of joy. Sometimes some sha some Nigerians use to do pass themselves, how can a bricklayer that mostly works has a labourer for block moulding be expecting is 6th child. If I don't have a good paying job or I am not financial okay, my parents should just forget about grand children from me.

I'm not familiar with her ('Bukunmi), but that baby girl in the last pic is looking so cute! Babies are always looking so lovable... (i.e., when they are not crying excessively though) IMHO.

the first child is a boy and i was with them when he was born as well, but i feel more connected to the girl.
