I've been working in warri refinery and am a marketer and I can say boldly that the Marketers and NNPC are doing some shoddy deals trying to fake scarcity and increase fuel price to 300 and above per liters during the festive period. We have enough fuel to run this country till next year for christ sake

DSS is right that the scarcity and high cost of fuel constitutes a national security threat.
But how can they enforce the availability of the product in a country that is rife with corruption from the top to bottom.
It's the same thing EFCC does when it goes to raid bureau de change outlets for hawking dollars.
It all boils down to corruption and as sad and depressing as it may sound, corruption is now part and parcel of our way of life because Buhari came and fully institutionalised it.

You need to check President Buhari's first coming in the 80's. He ordered soildiers to brake into shops hording goods and the goods were sold at very reduced prices to the public. If NNPC does npt comply I'm sure he can oder soildiers to break into NNPC depots and sell the petrol at reduced price to the public.

How is thos DSS concern? is it a security issue?

Fact is the fuel shortage has been an artificial shortage from the NNPC. The DSS has been aware of this as well as our never-aware minister of petroleum. Money is being siphoned as is the usual practice before an election year, just in case there is a change of government. Whether the masses suffer to satisfy the greed of a few is not a major concern to them!
