MindHacker9009:

You need to check President Buhari's first coming in the 80's. He ordered soildiers to brake into shops hording good and the good sold at very reduced prices. If NNPC does npt comply I'm sure he can oder soildiers to break into NNPC depots and sell the petrol at reduced price to the public.

The Buhari of 80s was a bulldog while that of 2022 is a pussy cat.

Besides, this is democracy otherwise Fayose will not be walking free now.

Dereliction of duty. DSS wants to abandon its duties for NNPC function. That is a nice one, peace corps may likely help them with their on duties when they go on fuel voyage. Beautiful nonsense!

48 hours is too long, please. Activate the operation within the next 12 hours if they refuse to make fuel available to the people. What kind of wicked people do we have in this country?

Any feeling station, including NNPC stations, that refuse to sell should be forced to dispense the fuel in their reservoir for free and thereafter close down the stations for 5 years.
they are actually selling oo but at 285naira per liter

I want those filling stations punished for making us suffer for days.
A few of them should be closed down and the owners taken away be DSS. They don't deserve to live among human beings.

Why DSS?

part of their job is the detect and prevent any form of economic sabotage... so at this point they have connected the dots and are compelled to take action

Some fuel stations sells premium motor spirit within the range of #257-#260/litre in Benin City.
The Government of the state have refused to setup taskforce to control the price.

I'm just amused at the DSS.

Like the government, and like many people, the DSS thinks that you can sell fuel at a loss.

There is no fuel, because the landing cost of fuel is over N200 and rising. And meanwhile, the fuel marketer is expected to sell that fuel at N179, and smile while doing so. (We haven't even spoken about depot and transport costs...and a host of other costs.

The cold reality is that the APC government, like all the governments before it, does not want to face reality and allow the market set the price...because they know that they would be out of a job if they did. Even Abacha, that hard milltary man, never ever contemplated removing subsides because he knew that he would be removed.

But the cold reality is, you cannot force people to sell at a loss. We have been forcing the Nigerian petroleum sector to sell at a loss for nearly 50 years. In the misguided idea that we are helping the poor. Thanks to the idea...we have lost 4 refineries, will lose the private refineries, and suffered unneccesary scarcity, and the fuel we use is one of the worst in the world.

You can abuse me, call me names, call me oppressor, call me Buhari fan, call me tinubu fan, or whatever. I know the truth about myself. And I also know that you cannot sell something that costs N500 and above at N178 and expect miracles to happen.

DSS, APC, and most Nigerians have to face reality. Either we pay the market price at the pump....or we will pay it in debt, loans and so on. And we will keep on wasting money subsidsing half of West Africa while we do it.

Money that we could have used for other things.
