The genesis of the whole agruement was if the good people of Iran elected or made the present supreme leader Hosseini Khamenei their leader. That was the basis of our agruement

I stated the only reason he took that position was because he was the stronger man after the last supreme leader. Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini died and he wasn't elected as the supreme leader but was appointed,
Also by law the deputy supreme leader was supposed to assume the position.
