Just don't do it. No cross over nonsense! It's Bid'ah! And all Bid'ah is misguidance! All misguidance will lead to hell. 10 Likes |

I think it's about "sticking to basics" and avoiding innovation in religion. Overtime that's how previous religions from God were lost to cultural practices and idiosyncrasies of the dominant civilization of the time. That is one unique feature of Islam, The Quran an sunna are sacrosanct, and no matter how over time teachings of Islam are mixed with culture, there always come a generational renaissance that can tap into the most earliest sources of Islam (Quran and SunnaH) and return to the basics. If you look carefully we are in the middle of a global renaissance. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Please just don't do it. This nonsense is gaining grounds amongst some Muslims notably amongst the womenfolks. White clothes, Tasbee and Mat they will head to the National Stadium for this Nonsense. There is this Hisbullah guy at Ebute Meta Lagos promoting this with catchy posters here and there. Men keep your women and kids at home please. 10 Likes |

Can't we just do the prayer alone with our family without taging it for cross over prayer. It would be prayer for guidance into a new month. 1 Like |

mariovito:Far from it (I.e your understanding of Jihad or the propaganda the media loves to amplify) these are false ideologies on the fringes of Islam which islamophobes love to paint Islam with. Even though these extremists have nothing on Islam apart from thier verbal profession of islam for the cameras. 2 Likes |

Salam alaikum muslumi and muslimah. I need your help and advice. Ever since I lost my job, its been challenging for me to pray, in fact I lost interest in prayer. I feel like there's a venom of failure to submission in me, I feel like praying is useless, while I was working especially morning and afternoon shift I usually woke up around 2am for tahajjud, but everything changed the day I lost my job, I feel weak, lazy and fruitless to pray. Please what should/can I do have to trust and believe in prayer like before. Jumah Mubarak..... |

youngsahito: In Islam, every day is the Lord's day. Every hour every minutes you spend worshipping your Guardian Lord will be rewarded but setting aside a particular date or Date which have no basis according to the Quran and the Practice of our Beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) and the practices of those who are with him (Companions) is a No-no! Don't do it. Beside you have a Device and Data, use it to Google Janus, use to check the impositions of the Calends, the changes made thru history. 1 Like |

One thing we need to understand is the fact that, Muslims should pray without season. Are we now to suspend whatever special prayers we have been doing because it's new year? I might decide today as my new year, nothing bad. We need not be an extremist, Islam is accommodating and flexible. |

Sirseedorf: THIS TRYING TIME IS WHEN YOU NEED TAHAJJUD THE MOST. ALLAH WANTS TO SEE IF YOUR WORSHIP IS ONLY DONE WHEN THINGS ARE ROSY FOR YOU. A FAITHFUL MUSLIM WORSHIPS ALLAH IN TIMES OF EASE AND HARDSHIP. EVERY MUSLIM ON EARTH WILL GO THROUGH WHAT YOU'RE GOING THROUGH AT THE MOMENT (in different ways). EVERYONE WILL BE TESTED. THIS IS YOUR TEST. STICK WITH YOUR LORD, DEPEND ON HIM COMPLETELY, WORSHIP HIM AND WATCH THINGS TURN AROUND FOR YOU. 3 Likes |

hizeetech: If Qiyam lail ( Tahajud) has been your regular thing, you won't even ask this question of yours. What the Op is saying and what is the correct opinion is that you don't set aside 31st December/January 1st as a Special Tahajud Night or Day. You can have your regular Tahajud but not because it is the Last Day of the Year or the First Day of the year. Islam is accommodating and flexible withing the Laws it stipulates not when you bring what is alien to it. Examples abounds. Like offer Solat while sitting or even lying down as situation permits, Don't Fast when you are traveling, combine prayers when Travelling etc but not what you assume in this instance. May Allah direct affairs. 1 Like |

I think it's beautiful for Muslims to perform the Tahaajud prayer on the last day of the year. There are no specific restrictions that I'm aware of. However, staying mindful and focused during the prayer is always good. You can make it unique by reciting the Quran and making a sincere dua. But if you really wanna do it, you gotta stay focused on your Soujoud prostration quran recitation and distraction. It's a great way to end the year on a spiritual note and seek forgiveness and blessings from Allah. So, perform Tahaajud if you feel like it, and may Allah accept all our prayers and good deeds. Take care! |
