Brymo As A Symbol Of Vicious Tribalism In South West Politics by owobokiri(m): 11:19am On Jan 07, 2023
First A bit of history:

In the run up to the governorship elections in Oyo state that brought in Seyi Makinde as the governor, the then incumbent governor Abiola Ajimobi, thinking that Uche Secondus The PDP chairman was Igbo(Secondus is from Rivers State), became so agitated that he thundered: "an Igbo man will NEVER say who will be the governor of Oyo state"! Several years before then, The Oba of Lagos, who is as at today, the paramount traditional ruler of Lagos State, was caught on camera threatening that Igbos who voted against The APC will be "thrown into the lagoon"! This was after Raji Fashola, the current Minister of Works under Buhari was quoted during the Jonathan regime as saying that "those who lost the war, can not be enjoying the country more than those who won the war"!!!

But let us go further back to The Obasanjo administration. Dupe Adelaja was Obasanjos Minister of State for Defence (Navy). In one of the most outrageous displays of uncouth hatred for a group, she once stated that "igbos are traitors for participating in the Biafran war, and should leave government jobs for others, rather they should continue with their "okirika businesses"! This very outburst cost such a big ruckus then that many demanded her immediate sack, but her kinsman Obasanjo let her off the hook! Even before her, there was one Gen Adeyinka Adebayo. He was the governor of the South West at the end of the war and was once quoted as saying that "igbos coming back to different Nigerian cities must be forced to obtain visas"! Since they initially demanded for a separate state.

Current APC presidential candidate is not left. If Tinubu is not dropping his "Awon Okoro" jibes, his uncouth wife is openly threatening the igbos because according to her "igbos don't like us". In the middle of all the killings by the fulani herdsmen in this country, Tinubu was mentioning "Evans" while he paying a condolence visit to Pa Fosaaranti over the killing of her daughter by , wait for it, The fulani herdsmen! In almost all the South West states, an inconsequential position of "The Eze Ndigbos" has been defined as a direct challenge to Yoruba institutions and culture! In Akure, the Eze Ndigbo there was actually flogged by Yoruba touts and the episode was gleefully welcomed across board, especially in the blogosphere. In all these, you will NEVER find an Igbo governor, an Igbo minister or even an Igbo traditional ruler, making similar distasteful comments about the Yoruba or any other groups, but the igbos are always the feared "tribalists".

Enter Olawela Olofooro, a wornout Nigerian musician from Lagos State - South West Nigeria. He goes with the strange stage name Brymo. A one hit wonder! Over the last few years, Mr Olawela has practically gone over the top in his bid to draw attention to himself and his comatose career. Few months ago, he went as far as releasing a musical video where he pompously starred naked! While that action drew a lot of umbrage, his latest attempt at pontificating on the Igbo mans political destiny in Nigeria as he denigrates them, most probably showcases the crudeness and wickedness of not just his mindset, but of the political environment where such atrocious thoughts were conviniently formed overtime. The problem is not Brymo. The problem lies in that squalid tribal environment of hate and jealousy that has sprouted numerous Brymos, including the ones we tango with everyday here.

Brymo supports Tinubu. Kashim Shettimma, Tinubus running mate has been accused of being the founder of Boko Haram by no other person but his predecessor at Borno government house, Ali Modu Sheriff! Infact a wanted Boko Haram terrorist was found in Shettimmas house at a point. Boko Haram wants to turn Nigeria into an Islamic caliphate and to kill anyone who resists this. But Brymo is more at home with this candidate than with a Peter Obi that actually decimated MASSOB at Onitsha. Atiku Abubakar is a fulani! The fulani herdsmen are responsible for some of the most heinous acts of ethnic cleansing in Nigeria in recent years, but Brymo has no strong words for him. He will never be found tying an Atiku or a Shettimma with the herdsmen or Boko Haram atrocities, but he finds it very convinient to tie Peter Obi with the nebulous activities of both IPOB-ESN and the ubiquitous unknown gunmen!

That speaks volumes not just about the empty character of One Brymo, but of those unfortunates like him, who were raised with a constant feed of igbophobia..
What they need is help not just condemnation..

Sh!ts attracts flies... Stop blaming your self-inflicted woes and misfortune on Yorubas. Always.

Move away from the hole you confind yourself in. Take a ride around the country and see and hear for yourself. No one likes YIIBO.

Hausa/fulani, igala, ebira, idoma, gbagyi, kanuris, egon, tivs, ijaw,... and others. They will always have different negatives to say about YIIBO. And everyday the seed of hate is being planted by same unrelenting YIibos who believes an aggressive way is surer to been heard than alliances or friendship.

I think the question you should be asking yourself is 'Why always us' ?

If by 2023, you still think and acknowledge the yiibos are not really welcome or accepted in any part of the world(including india) ... Then the problem is not the people, the problem is Yiibo themselves.

Or is the Indian government chasing Yiibos out of their country of recent also yorubas?

And we have seen love from the yeast.

The OSU will accuse you of what he is ten times more guilty of .

Nobody in their right senses will vote an OSU given their slavish disposition to israhell, their criminal and evil bent, and their unbridled hatred of other tribes in Nigeria.

The OSU op that is spewing saliva over his dead brain thread is a known OSU supremascist tribalist.

I foresee these ibo political babies labelling the innocent northern Christians BETRAYALS, SABOTEURS after obi's abysmal performance next month.

Because I don't see him getting up to 80k vote in any northern State.

When their useless Ohaneze Ndigbo youth league came out to state that no Igbo should vote any candidate aside Obi, where was the foolish OSU OP?.
Igbos are the most tribalistic hate filled people in Nigeria.

They hate Nigeria and Nigerians.

Even the idiot OP is still doing part time Biafra agitation here while insulting Nigeria and Nigerians as well as campaigning for his OSU last hope to be our president.

We must say YES to tribalism of success and we must say NO to tribalism of ethnic proportions of outright foolishness.

We the sane yorubas have disowned this embodiment of an epic failure calling himself a successful musician.

NIGERIANS......please don't mind this man. We are ready to move this nation to a better place. Yorubas have every right to support Obi and Igbos have every right to support Atiku. And Hausas have every right to support Tinubu. Either ways.......Nigerians will pick Nigerians. God bless Sane Nigerians. God bless Omoluabis. For with God. Nigeria must be PO'ssible.

"those who lost the war, can not be enjoying the country more than those who won the war".. (Fashola).

"igbos are traitors for participating in the Biafran war, and should leave government jobs for others, rather they should continue with their "okirika businesses"... (Dupe Adelaja)

The above quoted statement is the summary of the hatred. The Yoruba elite believe that they should be in charge of the economy and politics of the south just as the Fulanis have dominated the North, they never envisaged that the people who were given 20 pounds after the war would be challenging or even surpassing them economically, educationally, politically etc

They want to control the southern economy but the Igbos is a hindrance to their total subjugation of the south as the Fulanis have done in the North, just like the Igbos are hindering the Fulanis from totally dominating Nigeria using religion.

This is where all the hate stems from "entitlement mentality" the Yoruba elite believes the Fulanis enjoyed much of the bounty after the war, unfortunately the yorubas didn't enjoy as much as the Fulanis due to their usual nemesis, "Igbos", the people who lost the war, why should they be better than "us".

All these would change sooner and those who are trying to destroy other parts of the country as long as they accumulate all the goodies would only end up destroying themselves and they are doing it at a fast pace. I only empathize with the enlightened and sensible yorubas.

There is no where that anyone insisted that either Brymo or you should support any particular candidate. You are the one inventing that illusion to defend an indefensible position. While calls have been made for an across the board support for an Igbo president based on the fact that the position of the president of the country has not gone to the east post 1966, no one has been forced or victimized for not doing so.

He and his likes turned his support for a particular candidate as a launching pad for obnoxious tribal assaults on the igbos. That's totally wrong! When you read some of their tirades, you get the impression that they're pained more by the fact that an Igbo man is seriously mounting a genuine challenge for the topmost job of the country.

What I wrong with an igbo president? Why should one Brymo and his egregious supporters be so traumatized with such a possibility? We have had how many Yorubas and fulanis as presidents in this country, inspite of Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen and OPC!?

Why the fixation on IPOB and the wreckless utilization of such crude tactics to assail any serious attempt at having an Igbo president of Nigeria after more than half a century!? What are you and your Brymo trying to say
