You see the statement he made here , “Otherwise, 10 years from now, no one will agree to put money in the petroleum business except it comes from your cash flow.” If Nigeria doesn't start preparing its own transition to other source of viable energy ehhh....Naija will be in for a deep shiii in about a decade. |

SmartPolician: Why do we fight war? Why do we make money? Why do we chase leadership roles? Why do we buy houses? Why do we do anything? It's to have peace of mind and lead a comfortable life. You can not have peace of mind and a comfortable life free of frustration if you marry a woman you did not disvirgin because she will fvck her ex the moment he shows up to her on Facebook or in the market and your mind will never be at rest to enjoy the money, the politics, the victory of war, the houses and even the water you drink. Be wise. Some things are more than money and politics. 3 Likes 1 Share |

valentineuwakwe: It is just a matter of time, we all know crude moves in the bedrock, a time is coming when it will no longer be present in Niger Delta, and i suppose it's moving upward to the North now as research suggests the migration of crude oil in the strat, unlike solid minerals that are stationary. Starting out from the source rock where they are formed, hydrocarbon molecules, which are light, set off on an upward journey to the surface. They accumulate in porous rock and are blocked by impermeable rock, thereby creating oil and gas deposits. The natural pressures in the reservoir force the oil through the rock pores, into fractures, and up production wells. This natural flow of oil is called “primary production.” It can go on for days or years. But after a while, an oil reservoir begins to lose pressure, like the air leaving a balloon. First, imagine the depth of the Grand Canyon. The average Texas oil well is 900 feet deeper again - but this is quite literally just scratching the surface. Hydraulic fracturing reaches depths ranging from 5,000 feet to 20,000 feet When oil and gas is extracted, the void is filled with water, which is a less effective insulator. This means more heat from the Earth's interior can be conducted to the surface, causing the land and the ocean to warm. We looked at warming trends in oil and gas-producing regions across the world. |

Soon they will announce oil discovery in Sambisa forest.. see how Northerners are taking South for f0ols. The one they wasted money to explore in Bauchi, we have not seen the operation till today, just mouth and claims from NNPC that there is oil. Your 10 Masters, 15 PhD degrees are of no use if an ab0ki that isn't half as educated can play ping pong with your head. Southerners wake up! |

freemanq: You are shouting separate ways, have you drawn the logical conclusion and see who will be on serious disadvantage here. The wisdom in true leadership is to forecast exactly the future, your people should better think of a way to run an inclusive or propose for a regional government. North have practically everything needed for a smooth running of its state, Agriculture, natural minerals, recently oil and man power. Your region better use and harness the wealth of Northern Nigeria to their advantage. Forecasting from a logical point, other regions will depend fully on North in some good years to come, the northerners haven’t foresee this yet, but this is fact . Keeping up with the separate ways ideology will simply cage your 3rd to 4th generation who will be in Biafra land . 1 Like 1 Share |

CheapHomes1:No, it doesn't change anything. That's why people should stop the "our oil " mentality. Discovering oil in a state with the present constitution of Nigeria, does not put even a cup of garri on the table of its indigenes |

4ward4:LOL The SE has been existing for eons just like other regions. What makes you think Biafra will not succeed if they go separate ways? Every time north has this and that, the SE and other regions have this and that too So many countries do not have what our individual regions have but are doing 500% more than all regions put together in nigeria Make Una stop capping rubbish and die this careless talks 1 Like 1 Share |

Racoon:Don't be ignorant. Oil will remain valuable for a century atleast.. I'm Africa for atleast 2 century All the alternative source of energy will never completely replace oil and it's derivates.. Aside from burning the derivatives of oil for energy A lot of petrochemicals and hydrocarbons come from oil sensitive ones that can't can't be replaced so easily... If all cars go electric..I will like to see how you will electrically power a 200 passenger plane or run a container ship with PV cells and batteries. There are also politics that can raise demands just like the covid 19 and Russia crisis did.. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

arantess: That is because they are not black people.. Show me a continent richer than Africa in resources .. As far as Biafra is still ran by selfish blacks it has tendency to be much worse than Yemen . It is evident today with how small IPOB and UGM is being handled by the region and of course the state of Abia state |

Many dont see it as good news. In nigeria oil is not blessing but curse. Hardly anywhere in africa that have oil, that turn to raise of standard of living of people. Money is misused. |

Urheadmaster: It's not possible. Geologically not all 36 states have the type of rock that produces and store this hydrocarbons. It's mostly areas with marine and continental sedimentary rock formations. North west is mostly hard rock. North east is predominantly soft rock (sedimentary rocks) hence the discovery. South east, south south and part of south west are also soft rock dominated. Then north central is a mixture of both. We have Niger basin in Niger state which also has potential, Benue trough also which north east happens to be an extension of the Benue trough, that's the upper Benue trough. So you can see, you can't just go exploring for hydrocarbons everywhere in the country. The geology of the state determines what and what can be found thr. |

Good development, but why excluding Benue,Plateau and Taraba states ? These states are highly blessed with all kinds of minerals,is there an underlying motive or it involves states lobbying for the exploration? |
