You are a small, ignorant kid full of lip, so let me school you.

A metro system is an intra-city network that may or may not have underground tracks depending on several factors as earlier mentioned.

There is nothing particularly 'advanced' about having underground lines, as all it takes is digging and tunnelling. The British were doing this over 100 years ago using antiquated machinery.

They make more sense in cold, temperate climates where the enclosure underground provides natural heating, and are very costly in humid, tropical nations with their need for expensive 24/7 cooling and ventilation systems.

NIGERIA is ranked among the few African nations with a metro system, one in Lagos and the other in Abuja.

There are 'advanced' European and Asian nations, and nations in the Americas, with NO metro systems, as shown in this map.

So get rid of your complex and low self esteem.

MAINTENANCE! MAINTENANCE!! MAINTENANCE!!! Nigerians need to imbibe "maintenance" culture. Something as simple as using the trash can/ bin basket. Na to begin chop banana and ground nuts litter the whole train or even flush the toilet after use go be the first problem. Maintenance and service of trains is another wahala. Well... we have started, only hope we sustain the tempo to grow our great nation.

Dear Fellow Nigerians, especially those who have not decided who to vote for in the Presidential election

This is not about ethnicity or religion, it is about putting the right peg in the right holes
Do not allow them to use religion sentiment or your ethnic background to woo you.

Anambra, its a state I have been visiting since the days of Mbadinuju down to the days of Ngige to Peter Obi, to the days of Obiano till the present days of Prof Soludo.

There is no community or village in Anambra, that you will describe to me as a regular visitors. Not only do I visit, Awka, Nnobi,Nnewi, Ichi, Agulu, Eugu Ukwu, ObI, Adazi Ani , Onitsha, downfly over, Ihiala, Oba, Ichida, Oko and the rest communities / villages, No community, that i do not know,

Likewise, Lagos, no communities is align to me.
Adamawa. Hong, Song, Mubi, Yola, Jimeta all, are not new to me

Now, the decision is about, what and what did these men/ candidates put in their respective states when they had the opportunity as a Gov
What were their records and antecedents, what can you say are their signatures that you can still see?
Are there continuity in the projects they executed when they were in office?
Do not allow anyone to fool you with one Obidents nonsense,
When Obi was Gov, check the thread his kinsmen created describing his performance
Who failed as a Gov, definitely he is not qualified as a President.
Read the thread from Nairaland, what his people/ kinsmen said when he was a Gov below.

He is 100 yrs old but has a track records of performances . He has a records of laying foundations

The sincere question, you should ask yourself, what did Obi who was just above 50 yrs when he was a Gov in Anambra did.

Perhaps Obi succeeded in sending state lecturers in Aanambra to 7 months strike

He succeeded in sending Doctors in Anambra to 13 months strike.

Do we just vote him because he is younger?

Listen, you dunce. Subways exist in Africa, and not every nation in the ''advanced world'' has subways, as they are not always necessary or cost-effective.

It has nothing to do with being ''advanced'' or not ''advanced''. It is a matter of engineering convenience, topography, climate, cost, and other issues, so get rid of your inferiority complex, you dolt.

Stop hanging on to the Nigeria of 1970. Nigeria of today cannot afford bullet trains. Not every country in Europe has bullet train. America has no bullet train, UK has no proper bullet train (high speed, yes, bullet no). I have taken train from London to Manchester and London to Bournemouth and also Lagos to Ibadan. While I would say the UK one was a bit more modern than the Lagos Ibadan train, but not by a whole lot. However, ours was equally as comfortable, but much slower.

Even if corruption in Nigeria were to be zero, Nigeria is still a relatively poor country by per capita standards. Yes, we would get a lot more done, but not to the extent of bullet trains. Its easy to compare Nigeria to Kuwait, UAE, Saudi etc but look at the population difference alone!! Nigeria is 220mln, UAE is 10mln while Kuwait is 3mln. That means Nigeria is 22times more populous than UAE. And both of them produce more oil than we do.

That is like comparing a man with salary of 500k a month with 3 kids and another man with same N500k a month with 66kids!!!

This false sense of "we are a rich country" is what continues to keep Nigeria poor as we continue to subsidize petrol. What Nigeria could do in terms of subsidy in 1980 with population of 70mln and maybe 5mln cars on the roads cannot be the same in 2023 with 220mln people and maybe 30mln cars on the roads!!

We have to face up to our current reality and adjust our ways of managing this economy!!

You shutup too. Have you not seen or read about cable transport. That's what his talking about. Our government are busy borrowing to build infrastructures that they can not maintain
I give them 3 years and you will see the degrading state of that infrastructure. A government that workers payment is always an issue.
This country needs diverse industrialization to pull people out of poverty and unemployment angry undecided and not this mediocre we are celebrating that is not sustainable.

Maybe the USA is not an "advanced world" because I know that there are still lokomotive engines running there.

If you strip away all the mutual verbal abuse, what he is trying to communicate to you is that a subway system does not always make sense. Not all cities have them in what you term the "advanced world". Lagos is a low-lying coastal city with most of its coastline being at or below sea level. Digging underground tunnels that wouldn't flood and kill everyone in them would not be impossible, but would be incredibly complex and prohibitively expensive. Most other cities with such topography opt for an above ground metro system. It is simply more sensible.

Secondly, we are all well aware that we are not an "advanced world" country. We cannot afford to build "advanced world" systems for the most part. According to travelstatsman.com, it would cost around $325 billion to build the equivalent of the London Underground today. If it were to be built in Lagos, it would cost at least twice that because we would have to import virtually all the materials and much of the expertise. Please, where would the whole of Nigeria, much less Lagos, find that kind of money? The Lagos metro is fit for purpose, and built within the limitations of topography and budget. Let us celebrate it and pray for more.
