The ruling party is allegedly harvesting VIN, but INEC says there's nothing to worry about, that it's useless to them. How come INEC wants to run an election when 1/4 of the registered voters are back to school after the long ASUU during which they registered to vote?
INEC should be neutral and ensure a smooth, fair, and credible election. We must change the status quo, and it's not bargainable.
Don't do a Jega on us, the country has suffered enough. Bad leaders are a recipe for disaster.

Honestly, you are right. I can vote because am in school.

After this election we are going to be aware of certain things
1)the problem of Nigeria is tribalism and not all about religion but mostly tribalism
And hausas are not really tribalistic the way we thought
But the yorubas are more tribalistic

Because as at the time Buhari was sick and travelling for medical attention we all was clamouring for him to hand over to a healthy and vibrant Osinbajo. We regretted our action of being stupid to elect a sick old man

But now we have a vibrant and healthy Peter obi contesting but the yorubas because of tribalism wants us to install tinubu again knowing fully well that the world will mock us

The worse part of it is that the pain and memory of the incessant travel for medical check up by Buhari is still very fresh in our mind.not like it happened 20 years ago. It just happened yesterday
You are correct ,but not all the yorubas are pushing for tinubu. But to think that some of them will do anything to have hime as our next president is umbelievable.

The LP is the only party I know that insults the very people it counts on for victory at the poll. A lot of yoruba youth will vote LP, many others will vote PDP. Yorubas are the most tactical voters outside of the hausa fulani. Your piece does them a grave disservice.

You harp on about medical conditions as if physical fitness was all there is to leadership. Even accepting this dubious thesis, Eisenhower the great US President ran the US from a wheelchair, Churchill in the UK had a severe drinking problem, JFK had a chronic back problem while Biden...well Biden is old, has stumbled several times and made several gaffes. But leadership is not about physical strength it is about selecting the right ministers, empowering them and having a compelling vison that can be articulated across the economic and social landscape.

Assuming that the Yorubas are hesitant to vote Peter Obi - which I dispute. Can you blame them when they compare the situation in the SE with beheading, kidnappings and the collapse of law and order with their own region? Can they be accused of tribalism when a region that is literally in flames says it has the panacea for national prosperity? Will they not be right to question what such a prosperity would look like? Why don't you seek to allay their concerns instead of carrying the severed head of your kinsman in one hand and asking people to shake a bloodstained hand in a show of trust?

In the effort to win votes, people are going to say a lot of silly things. It goes with the season. What you should not do is accuse a region that has been in federal opposition since 1958 (while the north and east together rode roughshod over other regions in those years) - you should not accuse such people of tribalism. You should not accuse a region that hosts the most diverse range of ethnic nationalities of tribalism snd neither should you should paint as saints a region that has no single notable investment from non easterners in its region as true nationalist.

Please let us think before flinging out half cooked conspiracy theories. And when you do, make sure you aren't standing in a glass house. This unsubstantiated tarring of other ethnic groups must stop. It is cynical and dishonest.

The BBC's Peter Okwoche spoke to INEC's chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu and asked him questions about rumours that the elections will be postponed due to violence in parts of the country, transmission of election results, irregularities in the voters register, allegations of being partial, etc. Here are his answers

With Osun experience BVAS is rubbish! How will this election in February not have many results under the pretext of syncronization like Osun July 2022 election with irregularity and overvoting adimitted by INEC itself ?
