Passengers should take their safety seriously, some of these drivers act like they have a spare life at home. Whenever I am in public transport and the driver is trying to go side-by-side with these trailers carrying unchained containers, if you see the way I am always shouting for the driver to find a way to go in front or be behind, some people will just keep quiet and be looking.

I hope nobody died in this though.

Rescue victims ke?!!! That thing I'm seeing?!!

It will take quite the miracle for anyone to survive that.

After all these years, this preventable falling of containers is still allowed to continue!

If I call Lagos a shithole or slum, urchins will start vexing and bringing comparisons of how it also happens abroad!

How can a truck carrying such be permitted to leave the wharf without ensuring it is properly secured?!!...

This nonsense will continue even after this, till the next preventable disaster!

Some Nonentities will come here now and start blaming Tinubu and then say Vote Peter Obi to avoid things like these.

Why are you people so desperate to get Presidency. Unfortunately, your Obi can NEVER be President of Nigeria.
It's so painful that your naughty brain cannot comprehend the handwriting on the wall.

Other African countries permit trailers, big trucks and containers to move only at night why can't we reciprocate same in Nigeria?

Same bridge. This thing has happened there twice before. Containers should be totally banned from Lagos roads, reasons why we need the government to invest heavily on rail transportation.
I wish the victims quick recovery.
ban containers from lagos roads? Are you even okay. Una go just open mouth waaa and be talking like mumu. What do we manufacture here, it seem you don't know 90% of what you use are imported.

Blame the government, you voted for. Why are the roads bad. Why are there pot holes everywhere, why are there poor drainage.

And lastly, it seem you don't stay in lagos, because of you do. You will know these danfo, keke and shuttle driver are so reckless. After sipping on their daily morning syrup.

Since Tinubu gets the credit for everything that happens in Lagos, why haven't I seen a comment crediting him on this?

Boss, I ply this road regularly, the Road is not bad, these guys give kids trailer to drive, these ones know nothing about driving, all they do is to move truck, how can a mature driver carrying a container be dragging road with a bus on a curved bridge?

Government needs to scrutinize people driving these trucks, iv seen a 15 years old or less boy driving truck, these ppl are kids with immature senses, yet they give them heavy duties to do just because they want to pay them peanuts

Complete madness, what kind of crazy country is this, this ojuelegba bridge and this calamity, when will this stop? Can't they ban these trailers from climbing this bridge for God sake. They can always make take the ground road by the side, after all there is a major police area command just directly opposite this bridge. Can't we for once use our common sense and do the right things

They can but the touts at the bottom of the bridge makes life's extremely difficult for them .
This section of the bridge is notorious for such accidents.
Last year almost 4 very similar events occurred involving trailers with containers.

This is simply clear evidence that we are ruled by evil, wicked and heartless leaders, this evil has been occurring more than enough for a good leader to put in measures through the various traffic management agencies to put a stop to such recurring tragedies. Sadly there will be no resignation from the various heads of agencies tasked with traffic management. What an extreme and painful way to die... RIP to the dead.

Authorities don't care. The earlier you know this truth the better you can manage your life.

Many accidents that happen in this country are avoidable if only the authorities were doing their work. But they don't care.

It's not today that containers and Mac trucks have been killing people. What have the government done about it? Nothing! Why not mandate these guys to only use the road from say 9pm when it's less busy or stop them from plying certain routes? But they don't care and we keep paying with our blood.

May God judge our actions here on earth.

Lagos has laws banning them from the roads from 6am-11pm.. they refused to comply and threaten strike .
Same thing with tankers parked ontop the Ijora bridge. Lagos banned them yet they persist.. try to enforce the ban.. they go on strike

Why can't Nigeria government mandate that only trucks with containers welded on to the trailer is allowed on Nigerian roads, the trucks you see in advanced countries the containers are permanently attached to the tractor so cannot fall off. Why is this a rocket science in Nigeria. You can separate the driver section from the trailer but the container is permanently attached.

Even these containers here come with belts and buckles, but u will hardly see these drivers using it..

If u check carefully. U will see that this particular accident, the truck itself fell with the container, I think it was buckled, if it wasn't, the container might fall off the bridge

There is a major police command in that area, they can clear and get rid of those touts if they are determined and serious. We are just a terrible breed of human beings where only corruption and evil things are what catches our attention
