Poster has to state some more info as follows:
1. Current Rent per annum in his location?
2. How many children?
3. School fees per annum for children?
4. Average healthcare cost for family per annum?
5. Transport per month for him to Apapa and VI?
6. What is the nature of his accommodation in option C?
7. Which of these jobs provides the best chance for career progression?

My thoughts:
Option A: That 1 million extra is a big plus but if he is able to negotiate for HMO, then he should take this option. How?

(a) Move closer to VI for a rent of 600k per annum max. say a small apartment in Oworo or Lagos Island area;

Immediate impact =
- Reduced transport cost,
- Reduced commute time,
-Reduced overall stress,
-More time with family on weekdays,
-Improved health for self,
-More focus at work due to reduced transport stress = more productivity and
(b). "a" above drops transport cost to approximately 360k per annum
(c) Negotiate for HMO with the company and if that fails, sign up for a small HMO with say 150k per annum; especially for children
(d) A starting salary of 2.4M means that your next move could go up by 50%, cash is king.
(e) VI location would afford higher paying job opportunities around VI, Lekki, Ikoyi and you could easily attend a job interview in a few hours during a work day at lunch break.
(f) Networking in the VI work area is better.

In 2 years time, you could upgrade to a higher position within the company or get a better job and your overall stress level should be less.

Challenges:
1. Potentially higher school fees for children - they could go to public school in the area for now to drop that cost. perhaps they attend public school where you live now and so no biggy
2. Change of job location for the wife.

Total Major differentiating costs:
Rent: 600K
Transport: 360K
HMO: 150K

Total : 1.1M

In 2 years time, you could upgrade to a higher position within the company or get a better job and your overall stress level should be less with better networking and prospects. But it key that you move closer.

I don't think he should go for those jobs.
He should keep on looking. God would definitely provide a befitting job for him.

For the people quoting me, it's obvious you can't tell I'm being sarcastic.

I mean, I don't know why person go see a 2.4 million naira job and still be pondering on what to do.
2.4m here is net meaning for a year at 200k/month, it is not good enough for a family man but beggars don't choose, it is better than having nothing

You never get work, you don dey think of becoming a land owner.

This kind of person should never near any position that would keep him in charge of public fund.

Greedy thief.
Ladies, run from such men, they don't have dream or goals to achieve in life.

I don't think you have stated what I believe should be the most important consideration here; Is this a job you want to make a career out of? Or is it just to 'hold body'. Second, what is the prospect for progression within the company? (this may even be the biggest consideration).

Judging from only the information you have stated here; Option C may be the best for you as they seem to be the better structured. A big downside here is that you will be removing yourself from mainstream business circles and won't be able to quickly respond to better job opportunities.

However, you are not only considering for yourself as you are a family man. Things like how ur current housing situation will be impacted, your wife's employability as a result of the change and ur kid's schooling are all very weighty things you have to consider.

Goodluck with your choice.
