Members of a Church in Iwofe, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, recently got to know that the woman whom they had known to be one of their singers in church was actually a man, BBC Pidgin reports.


According to the report, Emmanuella Adaolisa was one of the Choristers in a Church in Port Harcourt until he was involved in a road accident on the 31st of January 2023 while returning from a church programme.


Emmanuella reportedly fell from the tricycle he boarded in Port Harcourt and was seriously injured on his face which caused him to bleed excessively. His church members were contacted about the incident and they came to the scene and rushed him to the hospital.

Unfortunately, Emmanuella was pronounced dead at the Military Hospital along Aba road after he was rejected by the first hospital he was taken to. Following Emmanuella's death, the Church took his corpse to the mortuary where they filled in his information which also included his gender, which was filled in as "female".

While the Church members were about to leave the mortuary, the Mortuary attendant reportedly called their attention to what they observed after they removed Emmanuella's cloth. The Church leadership, who were also present at the Mortuary, were allowed to see and confirm that Emmanuella was a male.

According to BBC Pidgin, the Church members revealed that they never knew Emmanuella was a transgender woman until her death.


He hailed from Anambra State, studied Pharmacy at Uniport, did that transgender in 2014, was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Rumuolumeni, was working for an foreign NGO called International Organization of Human Advancement, was told the parish priest that she (he) would introduce her fiance to him (the Catholic priest), which meant that she deceitfully wanted the priest to ignorantly wed two males. The father told her he had been transferred outside the parish. But she insisted that she would bring her fiance to whhever the priest was to be transferred. The Reverend father is now at St. Mary's parish Lagos Bus Stop, PH town.

It happened that the new priest at Rumuolumeni parish was conducting a-21 day prayer and fasting, and the priest declared that God should put to shame whoever wanted to bring shame on Catholic Church. The said Emmanuelle was involved in a Keke mishap on the last of the people fasting and prayer programme. She only died in the accident. She must have been sponsored by the foreign organization, to initiate same-sex marriage in the church, but she (he) was unsuccessful.
