What's special about Abuja that it's a must to have 25% there?

This is pure open daylight robbery

They can NEVER escape this rigging

The youths are coming for them

It will happen so fast that they will not be able to escape

Massive Nationwide riots loading

Just wait for INEC to announce the results

220,000,000 people and how many soldiers do we have in the arm forces less than 5,000,000.

The security forces can NEVER crush over 220,000,000 Nigerians

Let that sink

Attaining 25% in Abuja is essential for securing the safety of the official presidential workplace and residence (aso villa).

If all the 36 red apples are not mandatory to eat, why should green apple should special?
Nigeria has 37 different territories (36 states and FCT). You don't expect the law to say " you must have 25% in Edo, Ogun, Lagos,.......& the FCT. Therefore, it simply pacts the 36 states together and added the FCT. In order words the winner needs 25% of the 37 territories

And in this case is just additional. What's special about Abuja that a candidate must have 25% there?

Regarding usa electoral college, you only need 270+ to win. No single state delegates is mandatory to win
I believe you know that anyone that wins California, Texas, Florida and new york is almost coasting to victory because they have high electoral college. Almost a quarter of the total.
That's not even the issue. The issue is that there is a problem with that law. We are all interpreting it to suit our candidate. I am sure if it was Atiku that is in Tinubu situation, you would have interpreted it differently

Imagine you are the president of a country. You have a workplace in a designated area. Less than 25% of the people there actually support you. Imagine the safety risk.

You are the one confusing yourself proving nothing. See the way he turned Nigeria elections to school exams.

What's special about Abuja that a candidate must have 25% there?

Is Abuja a state?

Who is the governor of Abuja?

That is what the law spelt out in letters.

Every president of Nigeria since 1999 has always obtained at least 25% of votes cast in ABUJA.

To be declared president the law says you must have 25% of the votes cast in at least 2/3 of the states plus Abuja.

The law is clear.

Tinubu did not meet the Abuja requirement simple.

25% votes from 24 states and Abuja. Abuja is a plus to add to 25% as it is not a state. Not aust have there
A compulsory plus that Tinubu failed to achieve

Do you not understand simple logic
25% in 2/3 of all 36 states AND (not OR) 25% in FCT
When we use AND it means that both of the conditionals must be true not just 1.

But if a candidate managed to get 25% in 23 out of 36 states and proceeded to have 25% in Fct all together making 24. What is the implication as regards to the constitution?
Re: 25% Votes In 2/3 Of All The States And The FCT: What Is The Spirit Of The Law? by Rahym001(m): 10:23pm On Feb 28, 2023
FCT Abuja is counted as a state

24 states and Abuja = 25 states

2/3 of 37 = 25

A CANDIDATE NEEDS

25% of votes from 2/3 of 37States= 25 states to win the Presidential election

25% in FCT is a most. You can't bend the constitution to favour you.

So if you win 36 states at 100% and fail to get 25% at Abuja you will not be declared president? Dey play grin
