Shocked a SAN is arguing like this. By the analysis he has posted up there, the word AND is held to be conjunctive (which is ordinary English). So what does conjunctive mean as opposed to disjunctive in this context? 3 Likes |

Pocket lawyer! Who even dashed this IPOB lawyer SAN for God sake? Kaduna and Kano states votes is enough to cancel the entire south east votes. These Ibo fools thinks votes from Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi and Abia are enough to make their bigoted local champion of Pandora president! If you can't think beyond your tribal consideration and you claimed to have been to school, then your education is a waste and your father should disown you ASAP! 4 Likes |

The funniest thing about the present situation in Nigeria is that the poorest people, especially from the south west are the people celebrating this anarchy n lawlessness. |

AlexReports: Look at 24 states and FCT as 24 tilapia and 1 cat fish = 25 fish. In that same electoral law there is a section where the law said FCT should be treated as a state. By law you are required to win 24 states and FCT which is equivalent to 25 states. The ".....and FCT" is there because FCT is not a state just like saying i have traveled to the 36 states and FCT = 37 divisions in Nigeria. BAT won 30 states so he is the president 3 Likes |

Thanks for Educating them, able SAN.. Meanwhile some of the SANs who should educate citizens started twisting their tongues because of tribal sentiments. We've seen such before and they'll only bury their career if they can't speak the truth. But God is no respecter of persons! |

chemicalwasiu: It is still very wrong to use 'and' for non compulsory 25% in fct anyway Your idea will be best suited using the word 'with' not 'and' ..with the fct You need to score 50% in 7 science subjects and maths to gain an admission. Maths is a compulsory requirement even when you can't say it's a science or arts subjects, since both categories require maths |

Re: Without Winning FCT, A President Cannot Be Legally Declared — Ozoani by COMPAQ(m): 3:21pm On Mar 02, 2023 |
basilo102: Exactly. I'm shocked how learned people are taking that 'AND' to mean must win Abuja!! The 'AND' means must win 25% in 1/3rd of the 36 Sates and Abuja. Because Abuja is not strictly a state, the word 'And' was used to add it to that requirement. If it were a state, it would have been 25% in 1/3rd of the 37 states. So a candidate would win 30 states, win 25% in all 36 states and FCT, but because he didnt WIN Abuja specifically, he wont be President!? How stupid would that be? A rerun could happen 10 times and that could still be the same scenario. The guy might never win Abuja because the guy he's contesting against is from there. 2 Likes |
