Peter Obi was born rich not poor to start with, so correct that please. Most of you none Igbos, especially Yorubas believe that only people living in Lagos are rich, that's a big misconception.

Peter Obi's mom owned the biggest supermarket in Onitsha during the 80s/90s. Onitsha is the biggest market in Africa even till date. Foreigners from Ghana, Togo, Niger, Chad, Cameroon, Gabon, Benin, etc come to Onitsha Main Market to buy and even sell too, just like Ariara Aba Market in Aba Abia State. So someone owning one of the biggest supermarkets in Onitsha Main Market should never be poor.

Peter Obi started his small business right from UNN as a student and was able to build a small rented apartment in UNN where the current Sultan of Sokoto lived as his tenant while in Nsukka.

Peter Obi later expanded his retail and importation business abroad to UK and started NEXT business which focused on mass retailing of finished products just like his mom did; supply chain business which focuses on distribution of finished products to end users.

He became major and sole importer of some commodities widely used all over Nigeria for years, if you understand what that means you wont be wondering how he became so rich.

Tomoto ketchup, and other finished products you eat and lick in your room with your yoriyoris were being sole imported into Nigeria for years by Peter Obi.

NEXT stores was among the first brands that started megal retail stores in Nigeria before Shoprite became the most popular.

Peter Obi became a dollar millionaire and a Naira billionaire before he became Anambra state Governor and before he was sworn in, he resigned from all his companies, liquidated some of his company shares in the UK, and hired investment lawyers and managers who advised him to setup an offshore company in a tax free country to safeguard his money and prevent it from being depleted through heavy taxation known with UK.

To avoid being mentioned in anything relating to looting, Peter Obi told the investment managers to use only his daughter's name and not his.

This is how the Pandora stuff came about.

Pandora papers doesn't mean looters list, it only leaked information of the rich and powerful that owned offshore companies in tax free countries known as Tax Havens. It is not a crime neither is it illegal to own an offshore company in a tax free nation.

You don't expect Obi to have moved the money he made through NEXT businesses in UK to Nigeria to be taxed when he decided to close UK branches of NEXT businesses.

Key points to note:

Peter Obi wasn't born poor
Peter Obi's parents were rich
Peter Obi inherited some money from his parents
Peter Obi started business early
Peter Obi started Biz as a Uni student
Peter Obi owned rented house as a Uni student

As a young successful importer, Abacha appointed Peter Obi as Chairman of Port clearing adhoc committee to ensure fast and smooth customs clearing of goods at Apapa even without applying, Abacha appointed him instantly.

Peter Obi expanded his biz to UK

Peter Obi liquidated his UK company branch and used the proceeds to setup Offshore company in a Tax free country

Peter Obi liquidated his Next company in the UK and gave up his citizenship status before he became Anambra Governor to avoid conflict of interest or corruption allegations later.

Peter Obi is the only Nigerian Governor that didn't borrow a dime but saved billions for the state while leaving office.

Peter Obi is the only former Nigerian Governor that rejected Gratuity and Pension paid to ex Governors.

Peter Obi is the only Nigerian Governor that doesn't sit on the back seat as the boss, he sits with the driver on passenger seat till date.

Peter Obi is the only Nigerian Governor and maybe billionaire that carries his own bag.

Started which business? That gave him money to buy majority shares in a bank? He should mention the business and his annual gross revenue from the business.

Talking about money to buy shares,

What you need to understand is that den was very good and better than now

Most igbos who are billionaires started very little and they invest either in landed properties or something, igbo man no dey do without investment, just as I dey do now

I just dey buy mtn shares small small, buy bitcoin, buy tron and others.. I can be buying mtn shares yearly for an amount, if I'm consistent with it, in 10yrs I should have a reasonable quantity of shares and I remember some companies normally go bankrupt or something and they can seek help from bigger companies or people can buy them off or bring some money to help out and thereby becoming a shareholder or something... and e get the kind amount you will have in a bank, the bank will always accord you with some respect and if anything is going to happen to the bank or the bank wants to sell shares, they will meet you to know if you will buy them, just like otedola sold his in that forte oil to another person and na because mtn wan gain na why them sell to the public giving everyone a fair field of play.... I think I should stop here

What is the percentage or value of the 'majority shares' you speak of, in what year was it acquired and in what bank?

Hard numbers only if you please, thank you.😌

The question I personally wish to ask Peter Obi is where is James Nwafor?

The kind of mentality that makes a citizen ask a state governor on the whereabouts of a Federal employee he had no business with is the same mentality tha makes their principal ask CBN to oversee Paddy Rice project instead of Ministry of Agriculture or Bank of Agriculture.

Get well soon.

Peter Obi started business as a student. Then in UNN Mr Peter Obi was traveling overseas for his personal business even as an undergraduate. He was using a Peugeot PAN then. He is indeed a selfmade millionaire.
Shut up, like me, he inherited his wealth, which self made millionaire?

Under 1999 Nigerian constitution which Nigeria has been using till date, no Nigerian Governor controls the state Police.

The entire security of Nigeria is controlled by the Nigerian President only.

So no Nigerian Governor have the constitutional power to sack or query any Police without petitioning the IG in Abuja.

So direct the question to then IG of Police.

This is why everybody is clamoring for state Police in Nigeria, so Governor can at least be in charge of the security of his state and people.

He inherited some and worked hard to expand and build on it.

His other siblings are Reverend Father and Sister.

Dumb IPOBian. Cut, slice and dice it anyhow you want. We know the reality of Nigeria. Nwafor work closely with and directly for Obi.

Your silly attempt to dissociate Obi with Nwafor will only fly with foreigners who do not understand that Governors are influential chief security officers of their States in Nigeria.

Perhaps you should understand the Nigerian Constitution stand on who qualifies to be the CSO of a state. Take your time, read up, so you'd never disgrace yourself like this again.
