It's a good step in the right direction. Our local tomato farmers are only saying this because they dont want to compete. And they dont want the price to crash.
The next commodity should be rice. It will force them to rduce price in order to sell

Pls why do Nigerians complain over everything for goodness sake?

Tomatoe importation was trimmed we complained now the door is open yet we still complain.

We complain we want BVAS for election they gave it to us now BVAS is the biggest obiwharever enemy.

They said "Fool Emefiele" should brought his demonic cash swap because someone want to buy votes at the end of the day the person won with no votes buying yet the sore losers are busy hiring 20 and 40 charge and bail SANs.

They complain Niger Bridge and the Niger Bridge was completed yet to them Buhari and Fashola are useless, some of them even said no one send Buhari to compete the Bridge.

Tomatoes scarse before now. They give local people goods to produce, they hoard it and make it scarse and costly. You allow people to import, they start complaining. Look at cement and rice for example
The FG needs to let some few companies start importing rice too.

Those trying to create starvation in Nigeria sent 500 armed civil servant boko haram terrorists to destroy tomato processing plant in the north.
As well as killing farmers they are destroying food production facilities, all that am talking about is nearly a year ago, so this comes as no surprise, all part of the plan.

FarmTech:

https://agronigeria.ng/farmers-reduce-interest-in-tomato-farming-as-fg-approves-importation-for-nine-companies/

He is taken Nigeria backward with speed. in 1985 few people was give permit to import rice, sugar, vegetable oil and etc. It run for years till OBJ stop the nonsense, and make it that anyone can import rice and others when you meet the importation requirement. Now only 9 people will be importing tomatoes that will be consume by 200 million population. why can't the importers be rich when they hijack business that suppose to be trade by thousands of citizens. Instead for every state ministry of Agriculture to import tomatoes seeds that will grow and do well accordingly with their climate, they pocketed budget for suck farming and use it in importation of finished seed. Instead of going forward we are going back for 9 people to import tomatoes that will be consume by 200 Million people.

Two things might be involved:-

1. They would try to enrich some Fulani importers

2. Import GMO tomatoes , for the furtherance of the depopulation agenda of the WEF/ Bill Gates.

Stupid sellout administration

TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE LOGIC OF STREET URCHINS
1. Their papa Buhari closed borders to rice importation; on order to boost local rice production.

2. Their second fada Lai mohammed said wẹ are self sufficient in rice production
3. This urchin now says they should import rice in order to compete against the self sufficient national farmers

You can't make this shit up!

Who was your teacher in school? How does importation of finished products that we can make here help reduce unemployment?

What is really wrong? We need to look at their inputs before now, as in, since tomato importation has been put on hold, how much of it did we have and the cost of it.

Keep planting and keep producing, if we have it in abundance here, it will force the price of the imported one to crash and discourage the importers along the line.

Moealso, not everyone likes processed tomatoes, I prefer fresh ones. So, there will always be market for everyone.

Unfortunately, they are crying because they are about to lose their exploitation power on consumers.

Before the ban, we used to buy the sachet tomatoes around N25 -N30, suddenly the price flew to N100box.

For the years the farmers were allowed to produce, prices of things went up so much, rice, garri, yam etc and they were telling us rise in dollar caused it, I mean our very own produced farm things o.

We are very wicked to ourselves in this country, everyone only cry for what benefits them and not the the general warfare of others.

Let them continue crying, wicked and selfish farmers!

It's better to import abeg. When it was locally grown for the past 7 years, tomato was so expensive to buy unlike during importation. Welcome development

[quote author=izubext007 post=121575821]this is what the cabals don't want , that is why they cheated Obi in the genera election. they want Nigeria to keep importing to consume not to produce [/quote

Since the production, what have we benefited? Hardship!!! No be so? Food products should be imported, Nigerians have suffered enough.
