In our weekly review of the book, "The Islamic Etiquettes of Using the Telephone", we next today review Chapters 13 and 14 of the book.

Past review here

Chapters 13 and 14 of the book focus on the etiquette of using the phone in different settings. In "The Phone and People of the House," the importance of having a responsible and knowledgeable guardian of the home is emphasized, particularly with regards to phone use. The author suggests that lifting the phone receiver should be avoided when there is a male relative present, and that children should be taught proper phone manners. The negative consequences of allowing the phone to disrupt family life and privacy are also highlighted.

In "The Phone and the Office," the author urges those in positions of responsibility to set an example of modesty and professionalism in their phone use, especially when dealing with confidential information. The need for effective call screening and redirection is emphasized, in order to avoid unnecessary interruptions and maintain productivity.

Overall, these chapters provide valuable guidance on how to use the phone in a way that is respectful, considerate, and effective in different contexts.
