i think this is the main issue, people are scared. i think what should happen is for state governors to use executive powers and mandate any bank that wants to continue doing business in their respective states to start collecting and paying the old notes, unless banks start collecting it , the ordinary people on the streets won't collect it

I dare them to do that. They know people will later suffer more than what they are going thru if they shut the banks that failed to collect it. And also, why will they forced the banks when they knew CBN has all the power. If bank collect it, where will they take it to? Is it not same CBN?

Problem is Sanwo-olu will not go from market to market, bus to bus, shop to shop, hawker to hawker to force people to accept old note. People rely more on directives from Mr. President and the CBN Governor in a matter like this. If not because the country is upsidedown, the Supreme Court's pronouncement ought to be sufficient. But the Supreme Courts justices have turned themselves to skit makers making them to lose the respect. From Imo Governor to Akpabio to Lawan dey just dey play, dey play

How much old naira note do you have?
They should focus on tasking to cbn governor to print more new naira note so their will be more money in circulation and not asking us to be spending the old one. ( They are creating more hardship for us)

They dont have that power.. cbn is all.powerful.here.. this is the reason why some people have called for true federalism in Nigeria .. centre is too powerful.. INEC also is too powerful

It needs to be reformed

Hmmm.....and it seems Buhari and Emefiele has left this country. Their inability to issue statement over this whole thing is something else. That's why all this cone headed governors kept on dishing out directive here and there.

They are still shock at BAT's victory. They didn't see it coming and are now at a loss on what to do with that their policy.

Buhari, sometimes could be indecisive and uninterested in serious matters. He may not like some one or something and would still be hesitant to take action.

I am sure he never liked Tinubu and didn't want him to succeed him. Yet, he didn't know the decisive actions to take within his party to stop him. He was busy doing "hide and seek". The governor's are aware of how weak he is and seized the moment.

Tinubu being a seasoned politician didn't give him any room to arm-twist him. Buhari is still in shock how Tinubu and the governors fought him. He and Emiefele are now confused on how to go about the currency crunch issue in the country.

Nigerians ought to be getting constant updates from their government on what they are doing about the current monetary crisis. But Buhari is dumb and seems lost. He now seems more detached from Nigerians. He is just waiting to go on May 29 and let the new government find solution to the current crisis.

grin grin Buhari is the worst calamity of unimaginable magnitude to befall Nigeria. At every point in time of his right year administration, it's always one trouble or another.
Time has proven Donald Trump right, when he called the dullard "Lifeless"
Scarcity of cash is the final hardship of the useless Buhari administration.

Why is Nigerians not obeying their respective state governors order?

It seems they don't understand that the state laws hold waters... This is one of the reasons Bode George distaste President -elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was Lagos state governor... It is the state law that took Bode George to prison when he defaulted as NPA Boss.

Then they should stopped making reference to other first world countries with Nigeria...
