The principal did well by suspending the student. However, it should be a brief suspension. The student should be corrected and properly counseled.

Its very foolish to think a child actually knows what politics is, during our school days we used expired magazines n newspapers to wrap our notebook to prevent the back from pulling off, if not for hate why would school teachers or principals sees such thing and practically think the child knows exactly what politics is? There’s problem with some Yoruba people in this country the hate is getting too much.. this is no longer politics

I did same thing while I was in secondary school, I didn't know it was wrong and wont even think about it if my child is doing the same thing now. It is a crime committed innocently.
The girl and parent were wrong but the principal could have acted in a better way by just inviting the parents and let them know that such action is wrong.

The action of the principal is very commendable. All Igbos attending public schools in Lagos state would soon be required to provide a three year tax receipt.

Look at you justifying what a 10 year old used to wrap her book from damaging, how many of her class mate are eligible to vote. Does it warrant sending the kid home, without the parent notice? considering the rate of insecurity in the country, what happened to unwrapping the material from the book?

If every child is able to bring articles or materials wrapped in political colours to school, this will introduce new levels of competition and it will only be a matter of time before they start bullying and attacking one another on the basis of who supports or doesn't support a party.

Before long, students will start coming to school with 'Vote APC' water bottle, 'Vote Labour' lunch box, 'Vote PDP' sweater. Parents too will get involved and start fighting in school compounds. Where will it all end

The parents were just as complicit as the principal.
Neither the parents not the principal t comit any crime. . . but were careless to expose their child in such a politically-charged clime as this. . . .
Moving on. . . THE PRINCIPAL MUST STATE WHERE THE SCHOOL HAS SUCH POLICIES AGAINST POLITICAL ADVERTS FOR POLITICIANS.
Or the school should be sued for harassment.

This case just shows the extremist behavior of ETHNIC BIGOTS on both the IGBO and YORUBA spectrum.
Conscious-minded and enlightened activists are sensitive to others and watch what the say, do and how the act amonst others. . . to SEND THE RIGHT PRODUCTIVE MESSAGES.

Neither party did the most prudent in this case. THEY ARE BOTH BIGOTTED MISCREANTS OF THE LAGOS SOCIETY and must be eradicated!
