I thought the woman was declared winner.

That was a social media declaration. In all honesty, Gov.Fintiri had been leading that woman all the way. Na Aisha Buhari get special interest in Adamawa because it's her home state. They have done everything they can to help rig in favour of Binani. Aisha wants her brother to be governor some day.

Social media already flooded with congratulatory messages...

How will this woman close over 35,000 lead in just one LGA against a sitting Governor Make we reason am na.

The role of social media in this our electioneering process cannot be overemphasized..and it's one of the very reasons a careless, unguarded, comments from very few "illiterates" who have access to internet labelling Lagos "No man's land" and saying "we will take over Lagos" lead to a full blown Ethnic profiling and voter suppression in some parts of Lagos in the gubernatorial elections.

Social Media is very dangerous...maybe, it's time to put very strong control, especially during electioneering process...let's get our information from news papers.!

You made some points, but it's just from a single perspective.

Social Media as a lot of advantages too, when it comes to information dissemination. 👌
A lot of secrets has been exposed via social media.

Besides, the hardcopy news outlets can also spread false information, like a wildfire.

Examples of the the hardcopy false information is the Invictus Obi's cover of "Under 30 billionaire" Forbes magazine.

Peter Obi's face on the cover of TIMES magazine.
