Ofido:

umechuma and big 1 u guys are jst silly fools. Why wont obj visit the family?. The killing of this spokesman guy shows that boko haram activities is no more about the religion or the sect but a plan by some notherners to distablish Goodluck jonathan's govt.

Its very simple and plain only if you ve got the brain to analyze the future.

This Yusuf family has bougth into the deal presented to them by the master planner Obj and the family is about calling an all Yusuf faithful to lay down arms and embrace peace immediately the govt. Settles them because if u like it or not that Yusuf guy killing with out fair hearing is contrary to the law of the land and these useless boko haram jst cashed in on it and now the family wish ther wants the outside world to beleive ther are figthing for is about calling for a peace meeting and these politicians did not want it.or is about calling for a peace meeting and these politicians did not want it.
Yusuf family can't speak and decide for Boko Haram.Boko Haram is an ideology that has been exiting in the North before the Yusuf family became part of the group. If OBJ wants to visit Boko Haram members he should go to mosques in the North especially on Friday prayer day and meet the Imams and Sheikh they can identify the groups who's ideology represent Boko Haram.
Only a foolish Man goes after the effect and leave to cause, that is what  OBJ is doing.Maybe in three weeks time he will visit Yusuf family wives.Fooolish old man

^^^ Not any time soon. It's been hijacked by the cabal that's been sidelined and rendered impotent ever since Jonathan took over. What they're hoping for is complete anarchy so nothing even remotely called governance can take place in the country.

They're so overcome with bitterness and hatred that they fail to see they're playing into the hands of those of us that want this country either restructured or broken up into 'real' and 'homogeneous' nations. By the time they realise they're digging their own grave it will be too late.

Oh!! And they can also forget power returning to them in the near future. They're evil; visionless; heartless bastards that see power solely as a means to corner the nations wealth to themselves. And they see themselves as Nigerians only when the rest of the country is at their beck and call.

SCUM!!!

So if this is not enough reason for Southerners living in the North to head back home, I wonder what would be.

So where are all the IDiOOOOOOTs jumping up and down praising the Boko Haram begging yesterday?

Where Una dey nah?

We told you, You cannot fight an ideological struggle with amnesty begging and pleading. But Una too mumu to understand  undecided

Until we punish people and make them accountable for their crimes we cannot have anything close to peace and progress.

The right thing to do is to try those( soldiers and policemen) that murdered people in their custody and sentence them to death for murder.

The right thing to do is to find arrest and try every Boko Haram involved in killing innocent people and sentence them to death.

The right thing to do is to try every act of law breaking, looting and corruption we've swept under the carpet and make people pay for their crimes.

But we will not do that, because we keep making excuses for wicked and dishonest looters and liars.

Without justice there can never be peace. I just pity the gullible innocents.

You are very right.

Though I am not saying Obj's visit to the Yusuff's family was right but this development somehow made things clear. Killing of this guy after Obj's visit is an indication that 1) the influence controlling Boko Haram is not rooted in that family and 2) Boko Haram is committed to their course and that they would exterminate any saboteur even if it is one of their own (Baba Fugu).

To this end, I believe it would have been very clear to Obj and all of them by now that negotiation as a solution can never work as an option. This guys have already declared war and the only option for the government is to go into war with them.

Re: Boko Haram: Babakura, Spokesman During Obasanjo’s Visit Shot Dead by nasoeb: 7:31pm On Sep 17, 2011
I wondered why many thought OBJ did well by negotiating.

well for those that have sense only because i know many N/L members are just disgrace to to this nation. Boko haram has never recognized or revenging the death of yosuf's father. Never did they mention revenging his death as their agenda or failure of FG to compensate 100 Million Naira as their grievance , ask yourselves, a group that could pay 30, Million Naira to suicide bombers and could purchase new cars each time for their suicide mission, WHAT THEN IS 100, MILLION for them to demand for.

Common sense should tell you they don't have any objectives but simply to make the country ungovernable. Or tell me why : -
1. They wanted Sharia in 12 states, first
2. they wanted Nigeria to become a sharia country , later
3. After bombing the UN House, they claim they have been marginalized by the Nigerian Government and the International Communities.

Does this seem like a group with legit mission?

Aptly put, The Spokesperson undermined and disrespected the present day boko haram which has long been modified and re-oriented (from what he used to influence) by demanding for 100 Million which they consider an insult.

Secondly, they know if that money is paid to the family, some of the faithfuls may withdraw, which will cause polarization between within the group making those faithful to expose the rest of the members due to the foreseen problem.

Unfortunately there is a prevailing belief in Nigerian society. The belief is simple and it is at the root of out problems, at least since the British "left" in 1960.

The Stupid Belief; Share the Loot and the problem will disappear.

Let's wait if that belief will prevail this time. I'm definitely not betting on it.
Re: Boko Haram: Babakura, Spokesman During Obasanjo’s Visit Shot Dead by Nobody: 7:40pm On Sep 17, 2011
one of the boko haram members was interviewed in hausa about the killing of this guy on bbc hausa (radio). He told them they dont know who kill the guy, and if they were the ones, they will claim responsibility. This is to show u, boko haram are not the only ones terrorising this country, it might be northern leaders who want power, it might be southeners who want to make nigeria break up using boko haram as a cover, it might be alqaeda, it may even be the government itself. Lets not think all these killing and bombings are done by boko haram alone, but god knows best

If OBJ's pacifying move could cost that man his life within 48hrs, then all the fools in aso rock should woke up already, Boko Haram's fights, agitation, cause, whatever is plainly "RELIGIOUS" and they will eliminated anyone opposed to their ideology even if he or she is family. They categorically stated that they want total islamazation of the nation but the govt keeps ignoring the sensitivity of that desire. Even some Islamic clerics across the country can't boldly condemn boko haram obviously for the fear of getting killed while most of them are in support of their activities in silence.

The heat is officially on, protect yours no matter worth. This cowardly govt doesn't give a rat a$$ about our lives and Boko Haram ain't going no where soon.

The culture of begging and pleading has been gradually but steadily entrenched in Nigeria. It's part of our inept system for it's quicker to beg, sometimes calling God's name, and pleading with the victim to forget and move on. The forgiveness happens, even if it's reluctantly, without probing into the immediate and remote causes of the problem in the first place.

It even happens in our personal lives: a bus driver driving dangerously hits a car and all the bus passengers alight to start begging the car driver/owner, telling him that he should leave it for God. If he refuses, they start calling him names and may even beat him up. The bus passengers do not bother to let the law take its course because they want to get to their destinations on time. There's no investigation as to why the accident happened and what can be done by the system to prevent a recurrence. And so, sadly, the cycle of 'accidents' continues.

I guess it's this culture, which has become pervasive, that defined the mindset of those who praised Mr Obasanjo's visit to Yusuf's family. As usual, they wanted the crisis to be over 'sharp sharp'.

Now, the failings of that 'kia kia' approach are beginning to manifest.

As a country, we need to roll up our sleeves and courageously tackle our problems without despising the painstaking approach. We must be fair and firm and stop telling the obstinate 'car driver' that he's the bad man. We must let the aggrieved vent their grievances and permit the law to take its course. We must focus on the cause and not the effects and stop sweeping issues under the carpet for the sake of brief peace or temporary relief. These are the building blocks of a good and just society.

Do we all think that Niger Delta amnesty has REALLY worked because of the 'brief' respite? Have the grievances which led to the Niger Delta agitation in the first place been addressed? Yes or No?

when the foreign media says the central government is weak, are they relating this to several referrals in the foreign media to the state governors as ''powerful'' or do they mean the inadequacy of the Nigerian state?

the only other central governments i can think of referred to as weak are afganistan and somalia. Not even Algeria, iraq and pakistan with their almost weekly bombings. Ps another one in india just happened.

I wonder,

Just waiting for his take on the latest development.
