I really doubt that Yorubas are educated, they are comparing their docile brothers to daring Igbo men
It’s just like asking for Hausa people investments outside the north when we all know that majority of Hausa will rather sleep in the bush than rent the least one room apartment
While they are it,they should also mention one Yoruba building in Calabar,Akwa ibom etc but I can give you many of Igbo man investment in those states
lol

Says an economic migrant.
Okay, name the houses of the rich whites and even Elon Musk in Nigeria.
Tell me why they will leave a still prosperous USA to build in Nigeria.
No be juju be dat!
Elon Musk even has most of his properties in USA but he is originally from SA.

Wrong mindset. Only Igbos investing in igboland cannot lead to development and progress of igboland. Igbos need to start encouraging other tribes and even foreigners to start investing in igboland. Countries that developed rapidly are those that encourage foreigners to invest - ie UAE, USA, Canada, even China. They bring in capital and skills. The Saros and the Agudas from Brazil brought the first major development of Lagos (Lagos Island). They were the ones that starting building with cement blocks in Lagos. Some of their structures are still standing after close to 200 years.

The igbos are too hostile to foreigners, they need to be more accommodating.
Laziness and in failure has become established as a norm to you. No country wants foreign investment if their citizens can do what foreigners can do. The most independent countries are ones with majority local investment . This is why countries like Japan and China are able to curb western influences while developing. Imagine the little investment netflix has made in nollywood, they are already introducing extreme nudity. some countries even close some sectors to foreign investment. Your logic that only Igbos investing in Igboland cannot lead to development is flawed. We need investment foreign or local, but if most come from our people, it's an advantage.

The problem with the average igbo, particularly those with limited exposure is arrogance - unrestrained egocentricism. Igbos are the most hard working while all others are lazy, igbos are the most intelligent, while all others are stupid, igbos are the richest, igbos are the prettiest, all without statistical evidence. The irony is that after all these chest beating, the next minute the same person will start crying of marginalisation, oppression, hatred by others, etc.

Igbos are no more hardworking than the average Yoruba service provider, hausa farmer or Ijaw fisherman. The problem is difference in areas of specialisation. While Yorubas prefers administrative jobs and services, hausa/fulanis prefers farming/husbandry, igbos prefers trading and hustling (any business that bring in money irrespective of its legality or morality). This is what lots of you guys call hard work.

China did not start developing until it opened its economy to the world. China initially lost out on industrial revolution because it closed up its country and economy. It opened up its economy to foreign investors starting in the 70s. It gave tax breaks and other incentives to western countries to set up industries in China. They started building infrastructure eg, rail, ports, power stations, roads, etc, to support industries. The only condition the Chinese government gave foreigners to investment in China being that Chinese citizens must be involved as a shareholder and most of the workforce must be Chinese. Most western companies moved moved their factories to China. This single move catapulted the Chinese economy to the second biggest in the world within two decades.

Lagos is what it is today because it attracted investments not only from other Nigerians but from other foreigners from around the world.

No wonder most Igbos are poor.
Petty trading translates to laziness of thought and innovation.Any dundee like can do petty trading.

Yoruba are smart workers.Labourers, like the Igbos because of their dullness, mainly go into petty trading.
Smart workers like the Yorubas, rule the world using mumu "hard" workers like the Igbos, to move seamlessly above everybody.
Who is a hardworker more than one that carries loads from morning till night.

Yorubas are Jacob.Smart work with enormous benefits and gains.
Igbos are Saul.Mumu hardwork with minimal benefits and gains.
This is the kind of houses Igbos live in and that is why they alwys flee to the rich SW where we have a city called Ibadan which is more developed than the entire SE.

Will they allow other tribe to build a small business enterprise talkless an estate for that matter.

I read a story here about an Iboman that wanted to construct a pond in his native village, he took the contractor from Lagos to the east only for the boys (landowners) to beat the workers on site and scatter the materials and equipment on site demanding more than 70% of the contract sum to be paid to them by the contractors before they allow them to work.

Shut the Bleep up you fool. Same stories we hear in Lagos. You heard nothing if such in the south-East you just fabricated that lie.

I have people who have been to Lagos and experienced this first hand (paying tax to Agberos before building on land they bought with their own money). Who are you trying to fool?

so what you are saying now is that the igbos too should not own properties outside the east. They are allowed to buy landed properties elsewhere but will not allow others to buy in their region. This your reasoning is precisely why no one wants to associate with you guys politically. If I cannot own properties in the east then no Igbo man should own properties and feel comfortable in my zone too

If you can rid your mindset of inferiority complex, you will be able to make your points without feeling that i said Igbos are better than you.
The major trigger of economic prosperity of china was the liberalization as against the command systems that was prevalent . Open market was encouraged and people were encouraged to go into manufacturing. The government heavily encouraged and funded entrepreneurs with their large savings. They encouraged foreign investment, but the major reason for this was to gain access to technology, spur domestic innovation and create global Chinese brands. The ultimate goal of China was to have a prosperous China driven by Chinese themselves and representing a force in global economy. They have achieved that because the believe in my earlier statement.

Your claim about lagos is laughable and purely delusional. Lagos is only as good as the age long privilege it enjoyed as capital with massive government infrastructure, added to the politics of development which FORCED Igbos to move there. The same reason why yorubas are feeling uneasy.

What do you mean they continue to plot against the igbos politically? Politics is a game of power, intrigues, alliances and strategy. If you lose out today, you go back to to drawing board and restrategise again. You don't shout "civil war", marginalisation, etc, everytime you lose out politically. Remember the Yorubas felt they were marginalised by President Jonathan, what did they do? Instead of threatening other Nigerians with civil war and secession, they formed an alliance with the Hausa/Fulanis to remove Jonathan. After that the Yorubas strategized to take over the presidency.
Now what did you guys do? You guys started employing blackmail and threatening secession because you lost out after Jonathan. IPOB started insulting everybody including Yorubas, Fulanis and anyone who does not support them. Kanu became a demigod to the youths and the elders instead of cautioning him remained silent. Now the hatred he sowed is beginning to germinate, yorubas are responding, even the nigerdelta who were at the receiving end of kanu's insults are just watching. The worst of it is that IPOB made the Igbos politically irrelevant by their stupid sit at home and no elections in the east declarations.

Luckily they now have a Peter Obi. If the igbos are wise, they should rally around Peter Obi, Peter Obi has support more from other Nigerians than even igbos themselves. Prominent igbos including members of Ohaneze, Governor Soludo and Givernor Wike did not support Obi.
Afenifere supported Peter Obi, Retired Nigerian Generals including T.Y. Danjuma, Obasanjo Supports Obi. Even if he is cheated this time around, with the right alliance, messaging and strategy he will surely win the next election.

Very wrong. Yorubas do indeed travel. They are in many West African countries. Some even go through the South East on their way to Cameroon and Gabon. They've been in the North for many generations long before Nigeria was born. So what the heck are you saying?

I've been to the East, I have many Igbo in-laws and friends. You are discriminatory to non-natives when it comes to land matters. I understand, our historical attitudes to land are different. But living in denial does nothing to resolve this perennial allegation against Alaigbo.

Kindest regards.

"You are discriminatory to non-natives when it comes to land matters"
What is your experience or evidence as I disagree with you. During my nysc days I met with lots of Yorubas and non indigenes. When I will visit imo, I stayed with a Yoruba man in his property.
Where I served, the city of a a, lot of Yorubas, you will think they are igbo. The building I ate amala was owned by a Yoruba, infact his wife owned the joint.
It is strange for one to hear an igbo wount sell a none indigene land. Igbo people we know that love money. That can loose a limb bacause of money? Rather say the non indigene has not found "reason" to buy and develop land in the area.
Most industries, ports, markets are in the south west due to eg Lagos being the former capital and current commercial capital so naturally people see reason to invest in land and property. Why will a non indigene eg a Yoruba just go to imo state or abia to buy land and build a house or estate? Does it make sense? Now because he does not do that you say the indigenes does not sell land. Will an igbo just go to eg iragbiji in Osun and buy land? No, unless he has ties to the area, eg business or family.
Point is igbos will sell you land, but you have to want the land first. If no none indigene comes to buy what should they do?
Nb: The attraction for those southerners in the east back the was the industries they worked, ie Guiness, Nbl, PZ and load of big time multinationals, also the oil industry. So many decided to raise a family over there and built properties. Lots also married local ladies and stay there till date.

Kidnapping for ransome had been a problem in the South East since the mid 2000s. Evans started his trade in the east sometimes in mid 2000s before expanding to Lagos and Abuja.

Before IPOB south east have been one of the safest zone in Nigeria
From 2007 I know many easterners that was afraid to go home for their yearly Christmas holiday due to the fear of kidnappers. In the same 2007 a tenant of my father inlaw was kidnapped in the east, he was held captive for 2 months. On his release after paying huge ransome, he was cripped. He had to abandon his trucking business in lagos and relocate to the village.

Unless you want to tell us YellowBars only started thinking of investment and building estates less than 3 years ago grin

As I said, the east is not investment friendly, not even for indigenes not to talk of outsiders. That's why wealthy igbo men has more investments in other parts of Nigeria than in their states.
