Works Commissioner inspects ongoing construction of Roads in Akpaka

The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma has inspected the ongoing construction of Akpaka road, Federal Housing Estate Link road and the spur to 33 road, all in Onitsha North Local Government Area (LGA).

Speaking to the press at Akpaka after the inspection of the roads, Mr. Commissioner said: "We have an agenda with a timeline, and so, we work 24hrs/7days in a week. We came for an on the spot assessment to look at the progress of works going on".

Engr. Okoma expressed happiness that the Construction Company, TEC Engineering is working with a remarkable progress, explaining that with the pace of works, he is hopeful that the contractor will deliver about 4km of asphalted road before March 15.

According to Mr. Commissioner, Mr. Governor will be happy that the road is one of the roads that is completed before schedule.

The Project Manager, TEC Engineering Ltd, Engr. Xiang Chaowen assured that they are working in order to deliver the road before schedule, thanking Mr. Commissioner and the supervising Engineers for their supports.

On their parts, the Deputy Chairman, Akpaka Landlords Association, Ichie Donatus Okpala and the Chairman Works Department of the Association, Mr. Banabas Onyekwere said that they were impressed with the progress of work done so far.

They thanked Gov. Soludo for remembering the people of Akpaka and Mr. Commissioner for always finding out time to inspect the progress of work on the road. (MOI)

The project is handled by a reputable Company - AG Vision Construction Limited. The flyover which is about 300 meters long will span from Nanka to Uga. It is also about 5.4 meters tall, and is expected to be delivered in the next 18months.

Construction of the 2.17 kilometer single carriage Niger Bridge Head-Sokoto road junction has been flagged off by the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
