I wish every state in Nigeria can have their own oil field

Every state in Nigeria has their "oil fields" Sir. It's just that they're not called oil but GOLD, BAUXITE, COAL, etc No state is bereft of natural resources, it's just that only the oil is officially made a " national resources"

Going by our leaders , the way they talk , do you think they are capable of employing thinkers ?… do you think the way Nigeria is today , do you think Nigeria can avail itself to benefit from a thinking person ?.. every Nigerian is corrupt to the core .
No, not every Nigerian is corrupt to the core. No, our current leaders are not capable, and yes Nigerians can avail themselves to benefit from a thinking person if he's shown the track record and is been transparent enough. 2023 election has really shown that Nigerians are not as docile as we think when it comes to voting, take Zamfara, Benue, Abia, Osun as examples. LP in my little opinion is setting the pace currently, we only need to see how their elected members will perform in the next four years before we rate them. If the constitution of that party can be adjusted to accommodate more intelligent people, like having a clear cut ideology, lowering their form fee, getting the youth to register as party members so they can determine their exco, and choose party candidate themselves not just voting for anybody the small party leaders choose.

We can do it from the ground up if the top to bottom approach is not feasible. If we have disruptor in national assembly, don't you think they'll also want to sit tight. But Nigeria's problem is more than all these, because of the external forces and the business class/tycoons.

You want to see premium tears?

Mention developmental projects in northern Nigeria and watch grown men fall on their knees in agony and sorrow as though they've lost something.

This obsession is funny and sad at the same time.

Unfortunately for you, that's one the most underdeveloped and desserted local governments in that state.

Anything Obi is a fraud

Wow , your analyses are very apt and remotely accurate , but I believe there are undertakers , i think there are narratives being pushed by western countries to lower the price of oil globally through sentimental demand , I think global warming is one of them , like a case of giving a dog a bad name to hang it , saying fumes from exhaust pipes depletes the ozone layer , this narratives can make oil investors to pull out their investments …
Am not trying to downplay the effects of global warming , but why do they still have huge oil reserves despite preaching against it .

Forget all the hype, read and research about the prospect of the oil industry, oil is staying for the next 2 to 3 decades and gas for much longer.

It also eats up much of the money the landlocked country has, and the problem is, the country of transit can decide to increase transit fees.

That's an issue with being landlocked.

We haven't even talked about customs fees, and a host of other issues.

Plus, in case there is political crisis, nothing stops the country of transit closing pipes

As an example, shortly after South Sudan got independent, Sudan wanted to charge them 32 dollars per barrel of oil transiting vis Sudan. South Sudan wanted to pay one dollar. The thing almost came to war.

All this argument based on the assumptions 1. that the oil has to be exported 2. via the sea and 3. the sea has to be through Nigerian (southern Nigerian) coast.

There can be at least 5 more different solutions to such scenario.

Especially those who did not join Biafra during Nigeria/Biafra war. In addition, those maggots who had been brainwashed to deny their ancestors. I really want northern region to find crude oil everywhere in order to be easily baited into disintegration of the shithole called Nigeria. The politicians from northern region of Nigeria have laid plans to ship through the ports in southwestern region. This is one of the reasons they maintained steady roads (highway and railway) links with western region of Nigeria as well as political coalition.

There isn't. The key problem is 'free transport'.

All this fake oil wells and fields that these Fulanis are creating all over the North is just politic of resource allocation sharing. There is no oil in that region and even if there is, it's not worth any commercial quantity. It's all about envy and jealousy. Buhari came to work mainly for the North and he has accomplished 75% of his agenda.

It is

In the event of Nigeria splitting.....the North would lose access to the sea. That is where the problem is.

Most landlocked countries have to pay something to countries where their goods pass through. Then if the country of transit is unstable, that is another issue.

Nigeria is a contraption...I agree with y'all there...but splitting the country causes great complications for many.

You don't have to like the idea of Nigeria. If una wan split the country....you guys know what to do. I am just explaining why oil in the North won't lead to splitting of the country.

Why isn't there oil in the north?

The oil majors of this world have diverse geography, from deserts in Saudi - the leading producer of the product alongside Russia, to semi arid regions to snowy areas and plains. Some of the biggest fields are in the deserts - Saudi and China. Rid yourself of this hatred and as you accuse others - jealousy and envy.
