2. By the way, the passage you quoted instead says that those who were raised did not enter the holy city until after the resurrection. It does not state that they waited in their tombs until the third day.

God never gave any law to imperfect humans until He had a covenant with the nation of Israel! Exodus 19:5

This covenant was first pronounced during the time of Abraham but Abraham never got the laws. Then it was transferred to Isaac (Abraham's second son) but Isaac never got the laws. Then it was transferred to Jacob but Jacob also lived and died without having the laws not until the Israelites were brought out of Egypt that God took Moses to the mountains to give him he laws as the seal for the covenant He made with their forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!

So before God could send any Israelite to go and preach about righteousness to any other nation the new covenant must be established first! Jeremiah 31:31-34

And where does it say in the Old Testament that the new covenant is going to be based on an innocent man being nailed to the cross and some Marys going into his tomb with anointing oil on the third day be the basis for this new covenant?
