That’s a lie, women nowadays are more likely to get a job/gig compared to male counterparts even though they are not as qualified as the men.

This is the most ridiculous statement. Women have asked for equal opportunity and they have equal opportunity. The fact that she is a rep member is a testament to the fact that women in Nigeria have equal opportunity. The fact that she can contest for speakership means there is a level playing field. It is up to her and women to earn their place just like she earned her position as a house of rep member.

Equal opportunity does not mean preferential treatment. If you claim you are equal then earn your place as an equal. If you have to earn your position by preferential treatment then you are effectively saying you are not equal to men and are therefore doing a disservice to women.

Earn your spot on merit not because you are a woman. Women have equal opportunity in Nigeria, there are countries where women cannot drive or go to school…..stop playing the gender card!
