However cosmopolitant you think Lagos maybe in the nearest future, some things just won't change. You cannot wipe out the identity of indigenes in any part of the world, however hospitable they may be. Even in "saner climes" you can see that there are certain push back measures being implemented against migrants. I doubt if this will change for the better soon.

Reference:
Like the Mayor of Newyork, and the government of the State baying against the 2002 Martin Scorsese Film, 'Gangs of Newyork'.... on account of its 'uncultured' portrayal of the Irish and the denigration of their proud heritage.

Anytime I watched the film all those years ago, long before all these events we see today I imagined Nigeria in 200 years time.
So apt today because a time will come when Lagos will become like Newyork, a truly cosmopolitan city, a real crucible of nationals of all kinds from all parts and places of differing backgrounds.

It will. It will have to. It has no alternative. Lagos will eventually leave its ethnic toga behind and become a city state indeed.

This is coming from someone who is aspiring to rule the state. Someone was seen at the scene of destruction of the state economic resource playing leading role

there is nothing wrong with what the movie portrayed, people make movies with characters involving priest being villains or imams being terrorist in most American movies, even the Eyo masquerades characters are even used in music videos, the major reason some of you are mad is because of its portrayal of Lagos politics nothing more.

The reason why you supported that stupid view is because it came from GRV!

Ogbeni, presidential election in Lagos is different from governorship. Chinedu can never win if the election is reapeted 100 times in a free and fair environment. The issue of tribal will play out and muslim-muslim ticket will have no effect.

the Buba Marwa that made Lagos what it is today, can he speaks Yoruba? We are talking of who will work for lagosians while you are talking about who speaks which.
Okorocha speaks Hausa fluently but the northerners voted for Tinubu in the primary election. Are you telling us that the north should not have voted for tinubu since he cannot speak hausa?

Is it the reality of their reflection? True or false?

It's that simple. If true, give reasons. If false, give reasons. Haven't watched the film yet but I know that you can get robbed on those streets if you lose guard.

You can get robbed anywhere.

It wasn't a smart comment and further alienates him from the people he claims he wants to serve. No state has done more for indigenous culture than lagos state. To say that the depiction of an Eyo Masquerade as a gun totting hooligan is accurate is complete bonkers. The fear of losing his base is etched in this late attempt to keep himself in the news.
Being against a group of people or a party is quite different from spitting into the well you claim is your own.

This guy is done in Lagos.

We know you know absolutely nothing about the Yoruba culture and tradition, no wonder you are not offended.

With the Declaration of Independence sort of that he just made his goose is cooked! Chinedu Rhodes-Vivour will never be Lagos State Governor and will remain politically bitter (as they usually are) the rest of his days. Only God, in his sovereignty can change that forecast.
