Too many hypocrites in Nigeria.

You all watch Chinese movies excitedly where their traditional masquerade attires used in Chinese carnivals are used in making violent scenes in movies....coz someone used the Eyo attire for violence in a movie here, it's desecration. undecided

You don't even possess a third of the morals Chinese pple and govt has.

Jade Osiberu who is the daughter of Oba Osiberu and the creator of 'Gangs of Lagos', in an interview said they met with some people in Isale-Eko and even the co-writer of the movie is a guy from Isale-Eko, they got to spend 50 days there shooting the movie.........why did the LASG and the traditional institutions there keep quiet while the movie was being shot because majority of the scenes was shot outdoors and cannot claim ignorance?

Do they consulted the LASG and traditional institute who are the custodian of the heritage or they were in location areas

This man-boy keeps talking and burning up any chances of a future political career. He talks too much and tweets discordant messages which show that he is NOT well grounded in the history of
Yorubaland, traditional religious sensitivities, and cultural etiquete.

Eyo is sacred for the indigenes
and has deep religious and metaphysical significance on Lagos Island and in Awori-Yoruba cosmology including the Ifa Religion. It was very naive and highly irresponsible for the producers of that movie to portray Eyo holding a gun in a robbery
scene only to say it a work of fiction.
In actual fact, naive movie viewers
worldwide tend to take movie scenes for reality because they fail to pay attention to the movie disclaimers.

As for Gbadebo, he must learn the hard way, and know when to stop rambling like a pre-teen and shut up!

Point of correction!

Gbadebo is "allegedly" descended from liberated or formerly enslaved
Yorubas who started returning to
Yorubaland in the 1800s from Sierra Leone, Brazil, Cuba, USA, Trinidad and Tobago, with foreign surnames just like Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther, the maternal
Grandfather of another great
Yorubaman, nationalist and
Surveyor, Herbert Macaulay.

All of them were just settlers NOT Awori-Yorubas or indigenes of
Lagos Island, but were originally of
Egba, Ijesa, Oyo, Ekiti, Ketu, from the Yoruba interior of the present States of Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, Kwara, Kogi, and the Yorubaland segment of Benin Republic, etc.

Get your history facts right.

Read the iconic book "History of the Yorubas," by Reverend Samuel Johnson, who was a Prince from an Oyo royal family and his father was rescued from a slave ship in the 1800s sailing for the Americas and taken to Freetown in Sierra Leone by the anti-slave trade British Navy Squadrons that patroled the waters of the Atlantic Ocean in the early 1800s.

Chinedu’s forebear, William Allen Vivour, was the son of an Igbo slave.

He was born in Sierra Leone like the Yoruba Saros but while the Yoruba ones settled in Lagos Island and Abeokuta when they returned - William Allen Vivour settled in Opobo. He later left Opobo and moved to Fernando Po when he had problems with Jaja of Opobo.

It was his son (Chinedu’s great grand father) that settled in Lagos after marrying a Yoruba Saro woman (I believe from the Rhodes family in Lagos).

Chinedu is not Yoruba.
