Oluwashina72: I studied BSc Anatomy as my first degree. During final year,, I realized there are very few opportunities for a graduate of Anatomy except that person'person goes out of their feiod of study... Like the banking job, teacher, research, lecturer etc. Had to write Jamb n use direct entry ASAP for a second degree-Medicine. I later got through Jamb. Those talking about hospitals, there are few opportunities in Nigeria those in Medical Lab Histopath specialty are more preferred to and anatomist. Even in diagnosis and forensic medicine. For me=if the person onto want to work in a mortuary, den he or she should start thinking outside the box. Banking, data analysis, programming, research, lecturer etc. |

lolu2019: I am talking about Anatomist being employed at the hospitals, ministry of health even mortuary. They don't have licence to practice such. The core healthcare workers are licence by their respective boards which are renewable yearly or every 2 or 3 years as the case maybe. 1 Like |

Graduate of Anatomy don’t do I.T. Those Mortuary Workers are Health Technicians with Diploma which their training includes Embalming of Corpses (200level uni Course). During your Undergraduate days…I’m very sure u didn’t attend any of these Seminars ( Inschool or Outside school) Hand-On Workshops ( InSchool or Outside school) Anatomy PhD/Msc Class (Seminars and Projects Presentations) Mentor and Mentee Relationships (lecturers/Bsc/MSc/PhD students platform) Seriously For you to think of Mortuary show you lack Exposure. http://www.aysmp.org/ Meet Anatomist Dons ( Locally And Internationally) here. I’m a proud Anatomist too. (Bsc,Msc and PhD in-view) 1 Like |

Re: Must It Be In A Mortuary? by hardon1(m): 10:17am On Apr 18, 2023 |
Oluwashina72: .Anatomists can work in diverse places and not necessarily mortuary. That aside , We dey over look many things for this country.. Tell him to graduate and specialize in orthopsy/postmortem. If you know the amount families, police and security institutions pay to carry out postmortem, you go shout!. Just that he may not like , but it pays like white |
