There are various individual qualities that one must possess before he/she can become a chief in the ancient kingdom. I agree his predecessor did and a vast majority of iwere especially the chiefs were against it but the King is king and he did wjat he did, so why cant the present king do as he deem fit?

Do I agree with giving the title to someone else? NO but who am i before his majesty?

People need to understand something about Royalty. Let me take for example , in Benin kingdom, the Oba is NOT expected to take back his words, the king is not expected to curse but in situation were the king does these things, then the kingdom must have been severely threatened. So, back to your question of what I will do, access the situation if Ayiri has threatened to attack the kingdom or do anything injurious to the kingdom.

From what we are hearing, because he didn’t support the Olu’s ascension. If that’s the case , then I think it’s wrong. And moreover , the title was bestowed on Ayiri by the Ancestor, the current Olu shouldn’t take back words like that. Especially for a reverend title like the Ologbosetere.
