Be good mothers, police officers’ wives told

Wife of the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mrs Comfort Onireti, has charged members of the Police Wives’ Association (PWA) and Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) in the state to be good women and mothers.

Speaking during a familiarisation tour to the Challenge Police Division, Ibadan, on Tuesday, she said prayer was the master key to success in life.

“To a high level, we need to support our hus-bands financially, in order not to weigh them down with all the financial responsibilities in the home. We need to embark on trading to sup-port our husbands,” she said.

While calling on them to always clean their environment, she said this would make the environ-ment more accommo-dating, adding that “by so doing, we will not push our husbands away from home.”

She said “we should learn how to prepare delicious food at home and the food must be well presented to our husbands. We should not quarrel with our husbands, children and neighbours. If we need to correct them, we must do it with love.”

Mrs Onireti encou-raged the police officers’ wives to form a strong association where they could meet and educate themselves.

Also speaking, the Divisional Police Officer, Orita-Challenge division, Mr Banji Lawal, noted that since the arrival of the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Moses Onireti, the crime rate in the state had reduced.

He assured that police wives in the division would work with the new chairperson of POWA in the state, to ensure that her tenure was remarkable.

Earlier, the POWA secretary in the division, Mrs Kemi Oyekanmi, had informed Mrs Onireti of problems confronting police wives in the area.

Could it be that some of the bad behaviour we see from Nigerian Police men is caused by poorly cooked meals?

It is high time these wives started discussing the issue of N20 extortion/collection of the roads by their husbands. Or don't they benefit from the takings? What's their take on this and accidental discharges by their husbands? Do they realize that their husbands' organization is the most corrupt in the country?

On another note, is there an association known as "Police Husbands' Association" (PHA)? The husbands also need to meet to discuss the issues noted above.

I am not so sure about the wisdom of establishing such an organisation. I think we should leave it for the ladies to do their thing.

Its no secret that 90% of children borne to Policemen turn out to be worse criminals than the ones their parents are employed to arrest! shocked shocked

if you doubt my assertion, just lurk around any Police/Army barracks: you will have noticed that criminality is highest around those areas. You will also notice that those arrested (and then released to re-offend again) are "officers children".

So, the problem IS NOT with their Wives.

The Problem has to do with the exceptionally-high dosage of CURSES THAT INNOCENT SOULS RAIN ON THEIR FAMILY! grin wink wink

They should change their ways or suffer the consequence.

Lastpage!

BTW: Would you marry or allow your daughter to marry a Policeman? grin
I know "egunje" can be enticing!! grin

Excellent thoughts and ideas - let's encourage them to be put to use - ASAP

"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." - Titus 2:3-5

Lol. Bet that doesn't include the Mamaput meals and Shepe they consume while on duty cheesy

I can't even believe they came up with this rubbish as a serious point - like delicious meals will stop them from collecting N20 from people.

Maybe if they are better-fed they will act like people who are well-bred and we will all notice the trend in the end.

But the well-fed, well-bred people who are "big boys" are just as corrupt.  Guess delicious meals won't make any difference  sad
