The 2023 presidential elections have come and gone. Now is time for stock taking. As for me, I still insist that labour party and her presidential candidate, peter obi didn't not actually take up the golden opportunity presented to them fully. With 3 strong presidential candidates from the opposite side all trying to share the votes from the opposite side, it should have been a walk over for the labour party , had they tried their best to pull all their side's votes together. Peter obi only needed to have appealed to all the nation's christians to vote him, being the only christian among the four major contenders. But alas, peter obi and the labour party failed to convince all the nation's christians well as many of them still didn't come out to vote or voted for the likes of Atiku and Tinubu. Peter obi and the labour party must know that opportunities like this are scarce to come by and may never come their way again

Take away the massive rigging in SouthEast, ordinarily Obi doesn't have National clout to win an election

yes he doesn't the clout but he could used the CAN structures and sentiments effectively to pull all christian and minority votes to defeat all the other candidates

Unfuntunately Western Nigerian play towards Ethnic Loyalty than Religious Loyalty

Adeboye may not be vocal about his choice but he would pick Tinubu over Obi

It was a landslide victory in Obi's favor, but Nigeria has lost an opportunity to salvage itself from corruption and crime lords.

will he put a gun on the heads of christians to vote for him. He did his best toured round the states of the nation and campaigned to the conscience of people. So if the ruling party rigged the election against him, I dont see that as his fault. Moreover the winner of the election won with just 33% of total votes cast. Meaning majority of people 67% voted against a Tinubu presidency but because of regional politics, the north wanted their man Atiku while the south, south east, south south and parts of middle belt wanted a southern president in the person of Obi, south west wanted their emi lokan in Tinubu. Its a known fact rivers state, a predominantly PDP state with leaning towards an Obi presidency was rigged in favour of APC which was non existent in the state. A little known LP won FCT and Lagos that should tell what a substantial number of Nigerians wanted but the evil politicians rigged in favour for who they wanted. LP rigged in south east (no substantial evidence), but how come they won in FCT, plateau, Nassarawa, Lagos and almost won benue where their is no evidence of rigginig

He did campaign and lobby for christians vote, he even went as far has declaring religious war but this is as far he can go with such campaign. More than 90% of the christians voted for him.

South East and all the religious Igbo leaders played to what sentiments? You people want to shame Yoruba for being proud of who they are and choosing one of them. Did Obi come to introduce himself to us and tell us what he has to offer? Yet his miscreants were online trying to divide us religiously and you expect to win. E shock o you!!! E soak!

You can never use religion to achieve anything in the south west.

They are more enlightened to fall for any religious inducement.

Even bishop Oyedepo who was very vocal about his support for Obi could not persuade his members to vote Obi.

Is he going to be the president of igbos and Christian only? This 'strategy' of using religious and ethnic sentiment is the reason why obi can never win any presidential election in Nigeria.

Claiming 90% of Christians in Nigeria voted for Obi is saying that 90% of Nigerian Christians are bigots, clannish and devoid of logical thinking.

Unfortunately, that is not the case. 90% of Nigerian Christians didn't vote Obi.

You May be right if you say 90% of Igbo Christians voted for Obi.

even with over 60% of the country's population been Christians and non Muslims, he had a very great opportunity, he only needed to have polarised the country along ethnic n religious lines to get all d non Muslim votes

i just asked you guys to show evidence were there was rigging in FCT, Plateau, Nassarawa. Even in Lagos he won, their was massive rigging and reduction of his votes with enough evidence. If there was such evidence of your own claim, by now APC would have been in court challenging it.

People are commenting as if the election happened in the moon, this same election that people were not allowed to vote and the votes of those that voted were rewritten with biro. You people should just shut up and think of how to cope with the impending chaotic political atmosphere that is coming.
