the general problem of Nigeria is the people themselves and we are all part of the people. This politicians where once ordinary people like us and I am sure most of them would have wanted to change the narrative before they entered into politics but one thing is that our brain have been wired in such a way that ourselves come first before any other thing. That is why corruption has eaten deep into the system because most of us would rather satisfy ourselves and family first before we think of sacrificing for others. I have seen people who complain about our government worker treat them when they go for any registration but this same people would do the same thing when they get to that same position. It is just the mind set of an average African man is different from an average white man. That is why they say if we swap with the people of USA today, they will develop Nigeria into USA and USA will deteriorate into Nigeria.

Get power and water done right, first.

Then you need emergency services including good hospitals.

Create safe, affordable and reliable public transit. Including bike lanes.

Then you need law enforcement, reliable, honest law enforcement and a judicial system free from malfeasance.

You also need good schools and universities.

Once you have all those in place you'll realize that you don't need/want skyscrapers. Especially in the tropics, it's foolish.

Probably one trillion or so , not that the money is not there but we don't have committed leaders at the Executives and States.

There are 2 things the black man cannot do. They cannot plan and they cannot maintain. Without preparation and maintenance, these cities cannot be built or last.

The question should be when are the basic amenities going to be in place. Do we have stable electicity, running waters from our taps(Not bore-hole), good roads, security,visionary leaders and not rulers that are selfish, proud citizens that are not tribalistic? If the listed things are in place you don't need skyscapers to have good cities.

You're referring to cities largely of the past, Nigeria is a new nation without established infrastructure, we should dream of next generation cities. Next generation cities needn't be as expensive as these old Western cities you listed but they can look belter, more futuristic, sophisticated and liveable.
