N17 reduction from where?
From this current subsidy rate of N185/litres or the anticipated subsidy remover amount of N700?

Anything less than N150 is not acceptable. We can't be refining locally and still be buying over N150

Story!!

If the refinery will start to work immediately after the inauguration it will be good and good for nigerians...at least it will stop importation of fuel and fuel, kerosene, disel will be cheap and affordable for nigerians to buy ...dangote God bless you for this project

oga Ade stop spreading ignorance.

Electric vehicle sales are on massive increase in the USA

From 0.01% in 2012 that first Tesla was introduced, it has increased to over 5 percent in 2022.

The reason it's not been more than that is because uneducated folks who still love their big gas guslers in red states and because electric vehicles are still very expensive compared to gas alternative.

He is still correct. What you are saying is 5.6% of EV sales in 2022 ALONE!!! Are all the cars in America today purchased just this year!? Are all cars passenger cars!? If you go on a road trip in America, you'll see that the number of tankers and trucks and other commercial vehicles on American roads is almost competing with passenger vehicles.

Slow down and rationalize first.

Just shut up, people still use horses for transportation, it will take at least 50-100 years before everyone will go the way of renewable energy by which time lots of people might have died of hunger.

And is it only cars that use petroleum products. Think please
gasoline is the major pillar of that refinery, the other by products polyethylene etc have major players like indorama and they are the major players in world.

read what I said and the screenshot again but his time slowly.

The post I quoted didn't talk about tankers and industrial vehicles but cars.

And you can see that his figures are wrong because he was trying to play down the growth of electric vehicle in usa with fake figures.

Also, if we are talking about commercial vehicles, ev is also starting to dominate. States like California, New York etc have incentives for ev. A large fleet of commercial cars and big commercial buses etc are actually evs.

One of Buhari's biggest failures. If the government intend to improve Nigeria's energy security then it should improve the crude oil supply to the five modular refineries, fix the NNPC refineries and stop oil thief in the Niger Delta.

Electric cars and trucks are not in widespread use yet.

In the USA, about 1% of cars sold are electric...the rest are all petrol or petrol/electric hybrids.

You are making a good point, but the world hasn't gotten electric yet. First we need to develop nuclear fusion, then a good transmission system to carry the resultant power, then a battery that does not depreciate with each charge, then we will see.
do your research, 20% of cars sold in 1st quarter of 2023 are electric, and it is projected to 50%by 2027, and mind you he can't make headway if subsidy is removed, if gasoline prices hit 700naira, people will either abandon it or go electric.

Are you still using battery for your radio or torch light,

The funny thing is those radio/touch light that use battery are highly sort after now, once you have endless supply of battery you are good to go, why others that rely on phcn or generator, once you are out, they are useless.

Nothing old ever get useless, it becomes vintage and repurposed.

The lousy Mele Kyari should allow PPPRA to do their job.
Some Nigerians would still be cashing out in this local refining era.

PPPRA no longer exists. It has been replaced with Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NIMDPRA) by the Petroleum Industry Act.

Building refinery in the age of renewable energy and electric car and trucks, he should have built an LNG, at least gas will still be relevant in yrs to come.poor foresight . I hope he won't lobby to suppress the adoption of electric cars in Nigeria
And you think electric vehicles will be easily adopted in Nigeria where electricity is still unavailable 4 basic needs I believe in this transition to clean energy we should begin with LNG, LPG

The reason for his post is not far-fetched, we are moving into Monopoly. He did that in cement and controlled the price. There is no fair trade, no one monitors or controls these commodities, he controls salt, sugar, cement and many more.
