The is nothing good in NNPC,as they failed in all aspects to make Nigerians happy since independence! So, acquiring 20% stake in Dangote is a forced arrangements to make them relevant to their past failures!
The New Govt should desolved the Company and ask their Directors to account for their Non- performance!
Imagine, how ARAMCO- Saudi-Arabia is now the biggest Oil Industry in the World, with solid revenues and profit making! How can NNPC that failed to make Refineries workable be talking about Dangote Refineries and on what ground of competence?
Up till today,Nigerians are suffering in Fuel Supply,Deissel, Aviation Fuel,Black Oil,etc.- imagine the employments that ought to have been generated to the Nigerian Youths, just because of Corruption in many MIDAS,as they cannot account for the homongous resources at their disposal!
Nonsense!
My brother, the worse part of it is that the parasite of the country are visiting Saudi Arabia, they are seeing the enjoyment of the the country from oil. In fact bringing Saudi Arabia Aramco to any form of comparison is unavoidable mistake. For example, 12 well function refineries, no private one, to NNPC Zero function refineries, how do you see dat.

At what price will Dangote sell the refined products back to Nigeria?.. It should not be like Cement that jumped from about #2600 not too long ago to about #4600 now all because of Dangote's price fixing.

A healthy economy gives room for competition, not monopoly.. Northerners should stop giving Dangote monopoly over 200+ million Nigerians.

The President-elect should review whatever dealings Mele Kyari and the NNPC board had with Dangote, if possible replace them all. We need Government-owned refineries too, not just those of private individuals.

I don't if they have the capacity to supply 300,000barrels of oil per day to Dangote refinery has Nigeria nnpc been able to meet their OPEC quota?
And again Dangote refinery should not rely on a serial failure like nnpc.

Always question:

1. Dangote refinery was built on US DOLLAR loan.
2. He has to pay back the loan plus interest in US DOLLAR plus interest. It is no joke the cost jumped from $9B to $19B.
3. He need to earn US DOLLAR and not NAIRA.

Questions:
1. is NNPC selling the 300k crude oil in NAIRA or DOLLAR to Dangote?
note: FG needs to earn more DOLLAR to prevent re-current DOLLAR shortage and beef the Foreign Reserve.

2. or is the 300K crude oil part of the 20% portion of FG on the deal?

2. will Dangote sell the refined products to Nigeria in NAIRA or US DOLLAR?

Mele Kyari will likely sell Nigerian crude to his brother Dangote in Naira but when it's time for Dangote to sell refined products to Nigerians, he'll say he can't sell back in Naira but US Dollars.
At the end of the day, cost of importing and dealing in refined petroleum products will be far lesser (likely better) than the ones from so called Dangote refinery.

Those Southerners at National Assembly with herd mentality won't ask pertinent questions until PMS (petrol) starts selling at #1500 per litre courtsey of Dangote and his multi-billion dollar refinery.

When dangote refinery starts working, tinubu should sell off the old refineries to private sector so as there will be competition between refineries, but my fear is that a certain business man hates competition and will do all to remain the sole refinery in Nigeria

Tinubu happens to be the luckiest President ever

Nigeria spends 6trillion on subsidy yearly

If Dangote Refinery get 300,000 barrels swap deal for Petrol, Gas, Diesel, Jet A1 and Oil

Tinubu would be making an annual savings of 5trillion

Tinubu won't experience fuel scarcity

Tinubu would build our foreign reserves with dollars meant to export crude

Ibeju Lekki Seaport would be the busiest in West Africa, exporting refined petroleum and paying tax to Lagos and FG

Either way you see it Tinubu and Dangote played the game smartly and they are about to cashout forever

In another development, rumors have it Tinubu and other Political class are buying up Lithium ore accross Africa in preparation for green energy

I don't think Dangote needs to sell back the refined product back to Nigeria. You see, out of Nigeria Daily Crude Production be it 2.8m, 2.2m barrels or any other Production Quota allotted it by OPEC, 300,000 Barrels is reserved for Local Consumption.

Ordinarily this 300k barrels is suppose to go to the Four Comatose Refinery for refining but since they are not working, NNPC sell it and give to Nigeria Purse who in turn use it as they see fit.

So, the 300k barrels this NNPC Oga is talking about is the same Statutory 300,000 Barrels per day earmarked for Local Consumption. The man is just playing to the gallery. He is not doing or saying anything new.

What we need to find out now is the sharing ratio between Dangote Refinery and NNPC/Nigeria for the refined products. Is it going to be for a Fee? Or some products and bye-products to be taken by Dangote in Return?

As you can see, Dangote Refinery Has an installed Capacity of 650,000 Barrels daily, the rest I am sure will be bought by Dangote and he can of course dispose it the way Al businesses dispose their products and that is for a Profit.

Dangote Refinery is fully ready for commissioning this week, it is the biggest Refinery in Africa with capacity to refine 600 thousand barrels of crude oil daily and provision of over 12 thousand megawatts of electricity. The Man who built it is not a noise maker, his people never dragged Lagos with Yoruba, neither is he threatening to cause chaos in Lagos. He is peace loving and a man everyone will love to have as neighbour.

Good one.

That means the Refinery won't still operate at Full Capacity for sometimes. 300,000 Barrels still fall short of the 600,000 Barrel installed Capacity.

But we start somewhere .

Good one. But Alhaji, the Nigeria Market first!
No Sir, in a mega project like dat, after building there is a testing phase, this is to see how the stuff built will respond to different stress and performance, this testing phase helps ensure that errors not seen are corrected, so even if the refinery was built to take 600k barrels, they need to start gradually and assess.. Let me shock dat it may take dat refinery btw 2-3 years to run on its full capacity.

I hope the Nigerian factor won't apply, where thousands of barrels of oil would go missing during refining process, with no one to account for it? The refinary poses as a relief of some sort to the economy

There is no nigerian factor in a privately owned refinery. It is only in the public sector that things dont work, not in the private sector. In the private sector, everyone sits up.

No Sir!

They could have done a Test Run with 50k, 100k, 150k, 200k Barrels to test as you opined but why 300k barrels? The exact amount Statutorily set aside for Local Consumptions out of Nigeria's Daily production of Crude?

The Truth of the matter is that the NNPC Oga is just playing to the gallery. That 300k Daily set aside for Local Consumption has been in place for Decades.

They are supposed to be given to the Four Refineries and refined for our use here at home but since those Refineries are not working, NNPC sell and remit to Federal purse.

So, with a Functioning Refinery in Nigeria now, NNPC is simply giving the same Statutory Allocation to a working Refinery. Remember NNPC have a 20% Stake in Dangote Refinery.

So, Sir it is not for any Test but a proper take off of operations. Dangote Refinery will source for the remaining 350k barrels somehow.

Peace.

OK oo. Would it be at full consideration, given that NNPC already acquired a 20% stake and qualifies as an associate?

it remains to be seen.. remember this is a loan we talking about... dangote must repay in USD so like NNPC previously stated ... only cost savings for now will be in Freight costs. calabar , PH and Delta will definetly be less than 3 days (lets assume 2 extra days for loading and discharge operations) while in places like Lagos should experience cheappppp fuel because of the tank farms there and easy distribution within the city.

Now we look at the Nigerian factor
