It's good to see that internet speeds are generally improving in Nigeria. 20 - 50 mbps, 100mbps+ are becoming the nominal, even for non 5G users. Those used to be near impossible just a few years ago.

The internet speed really improved a lot in Nigeria i can testify to this

4g works only 10℅ of the time. Cannot do shishi with it. Even the 3g I bring it down to requires me to constantly turn on and off data otherwise it would be useless too
So which one is better in your area??

dustmalik:

To do a speed test, you need to query a server, which returns the speed of your connection. Google servers are mostly located in The Americas, Europe and Asia, these locations are thousands of miles from Nigeria. Naturally, this results in high pings and the results inaccurate.

However, Speedtest.net app and its website give you a list of publicly available local servers, especially from service providers, from which you can choose and test your internet speed, this gives you lower pings since the servers are just a few kilometers away, it reduces the round trip time and in turn, a more accurate speed.
Ok. Noted.
Are you a Networks Engineer or into networking technologies in any way?

So I recently moved to this place around magodo and the MTN network data speed is just so fast here, downloads and uploads are super fast. Below are pics of their speeds. Note that this is 4G speed, can you beat this.

The thing is Nigeria has gone to the Dust.

Nigeria is not something to be experience for the Poor/Average people.

MTN/GLO/9Mobile should not be existing as Network. But because Nigeria is a Shiiiithole, Anything Goes.

MTN has the most subscribers and yet the Poorest Service after Glo and 9Mobile.

An Extremely Crowdy Place like Lagos should be given serious attention in order to make their network optimal.

These Firms engages in Cheap Labours. Their FSE are Poorly paid. Those 9Mobile or what's their name. Those ones, Thier Service can go off for straight two days sometimes lol. I mean total network blackout. Emergency.

Only Airtel Network is Optimal. And the reason is because it's An American/Indian Firm.

MTN Service is Worst.

You are very d!mb because:
1. You don't understand the difference between MB/s and Mb/s. A primary 4 student knows this already these days.
2. You're in your tiny hole in one dead street and you seem to know what happens to everybody else in a country with at least 213 million people. Sheybi you are God and you can be everywhere at the same time?
3. You're also d!mb not to know that network speed is affected by many things; most importantly location.

You see how stup!d you sound ?

there is no need for insults I am clearly not your mate and I don't need to argue with you. I can see you fond it hard to differentiate between megabits and megabytes no cause for alarm I won't argue with you. I change my location from time to time and I can state it anywhere you cannot get a speed of 100 megabytes / second on MTN 4G Glo Airtel or LTE Wateva they have rebranded the fake network into. I did not say I am God and I don't know why you are pained. You people like misleading people. Even Oyinbos using optic fibre don't come only to brag about their speed even though they experience something faster than your entire generation will ever witness. Keep dreaming. How old are you sef. I can bet my balls you are not up 25
