If the G-5 especially Wike had not gone on a de-marketing campaign, Obi wouldn't have gained so much ground. What made Obi emerge as a viable alternative to most voters was the public fighting in the PDP which made most people see PDP as one not really viable to represent an alternative they needed. Take for example, Tinubu won Benue, Oyo and Rivers where G-5 govs were sitting. Same Tinubu lost Lagos, Osun, Plateau and northern states where APC govs are also sitting. What this implies is that if PDP had won those 3 G-5 states, or pulled good numbers there at least, the numbers would have been different for Tinubu since he lost those APC states. Where he lost those APC states, G-5 prevented Atiku from having the advantage.

If Peter Obi had stayed with Atiku and if Kwankwaso didn’t leave PDP, then the party would have garnered a total of about 13-15 million votes being the summation of the individual votes of Obi, Kwankwaso and Atiku himself. Tinubu getting just 8 million votes showed that that last election was the most accurate election Nigeria has had so far but una mumu too much to do simple mathematical calculations and analysis.
The party (APC) that you couldn’t beat in 2015 and 19 while you were still United, you then decided to divide into splinters thinking one of these splinters would be able to beat this gigantic monster the United family (pdp) couldn’t beat. What were they thinking?
