The amount that has been siphoned through that program is enormous.

What should be on the table is the how funds will be channeled into programs and infrastructures that will cushion effect.

IPOB Zombidiots will suffer, fuel will sell above 500 naira per liter.

And Tinubu will provide sectional subsidy for We Yorubas, we won't buy it beyond 170 per liter.

Even if all refinery’s are repaired, fuel will still be selling at close to international market prices. It won’t reduce price to current selling rate.

Subsidy has been doing all that and it’s time to let go.

Make ona give this man sense or a 🧠

If Tinubu na sense man, he would made sure few refineries are working before removing subsidy completely

Na so right thinking leaders dey work..

At what cost? Even when you stop the siphoning, it’s still expensive for the government. Their are better critical sectors funds can be channeled towards.

Can see you lack critical thinking.

What's minimum wage in Saudi?

What are the guaranteed social benefits for their citizens?

How des their infrastructure and ease of business compare to Nigeria's?

HacheNoire:

Price per liter in Saudi Arabia is $0.62/liter. Are we paying that much in Nigeria? That’s what subsidy has been cushioning.

It’s time we step up!

Is their a scarcity? No, just panic buying.
Unsubsidized importation is still valid.

And what makes you even think fuel will be cheaper if all refineries are working? it won’t reduce price below the 250 Naira/liter.

It’s right time to get subsidy off our back. Such funds can be channeled towards into other befitting economic courses.

Hello, The US is an oil producing nation with working refineries. It has all you mentioned, but still pump price still higher than that Nigeria.

Subsidy is not helping the Nigeria. If the proceeds are managed as expected, their is a lot we can do.

Their is sense, because Nigeria as an oil producing country is not supposed to have a fuel subsidy in the first place. Even if their is subsidy it should be very little.

BAT should have ensured the refinaries are 100% working before removing the fuel subsidy.

This one go create hardship of hardship.

Okay let's hope so.

Hehehe.. Jonathan wanted to remove this thing at a time a dollar was less than N200. He went as far as deploying mass transit buses to Lagos and different parts of the country to minimise the hardship.

Hoping the masterminder of Ojota "riot" proves us all wrong sha.

Nigerians are getting what they deserve lol. In USA, the country that has crude and still stockpiling, sells their petrol at 1.012/ liter, far lower than a poor country like Nigeria. Poverty level will increase, inflation will soar, crime will also increase. The federal government knows what to do but since they deliberately chose to run with the hares and hunt with the hounds, na those wey put them there go suffer am pass. They're same people benefiting from subsidy. Soon we'd hear another story that subsidy is still being partly-paid. We said don't vote for these people but you refused. Wailing never start.

It's ₦500/litre here.

I am not against the subsidy removal tho. Fuel Subsidy has always been a means to siphon funds. But the reality is that even as it's removed, those funds will still be looted.

I am only waiting for the other alternatives to leverage the hardship...maybe through massive job creations etc.
