We don't want strike. Is not as if this people love us about the strike thing we need to trust the government for sometimes we don't want strike the youth must be wise No to strike SAY NO TO STRIKE

There has to be a strike, so that government will stop making rushed judgements.

Tinubu ne ded to have read Peter Obi's complete tweets on fuel subsidy removal, store implementing that policy without putting measures in place to cushion the effect of the policy.

There must be a strike. Tinubu had more than a year to tell Nigerians exactly what he intended to do, but he avoided debates, only to rig himself in and plunge the whole country into avoidable hardship.

There must be a strike and protests

The truth of the matter is that as time goes on some of their members would break away and resume. There is nothing Tinubu can do. Nigeria does not have money to pay subsidy on PMS again. Locally, 1 litre of Kerosene is 1K as they sell Pepsi bottle (50CL) =N=500 in the local markets. Some big buses and most Volkswagen LT buses use Diesel (AGO). Subsidy have been removed on AGO & JetKero, those buses are being used for transportation. Aviation and cooking stoves users are surviving.

The leadership of the Labour Union understood the case of Nigeria where as at May 29 the Military and civil servants have not been paid. The leadership of the Labour Union can never support FG to be borrowing to pay salaries and pay for subsidies but how will they explain to majority of their members?

Nigeria is about to move forward finally. Nigeria can never pay subsidy on PMS again. It is gone forever. AGO and JetKero have no subsidy , it must be removed on PMS as well. There is no money to even pay it.

Bro, I understand you and I know that subsidy need to go, but my question is why were those in government now fight against Jonathan when he remove subsidy in 2012, some of them even said that subsidy is not even existing and they massively protested against it then. Assuming they allow it to be remove by then we won't be talking about Subsidy by now.

Wait oo

Strike for what??

Please leave the fuel price .. no more fuel subsidy..

What they should be striking for is the increase of minimum wage..!

So that the subsidy money can be added to increase the worker's salary, whereby increasing more money in circulation..

This is my take sha!

The law is not on their side.
You cannot go on strike for political reasons.
Yes you can withdraw your services as a human being but technically and legally you must have an industrial dispute with Your employer .
Otherwise you are absent without leave or permission and your employer can sack you
Fuel subsidy is a political issue just like going on strike because government legalised gay marriage or makes alcohol illegal or because government closes the border

All strike falls under jurisdiction of industrial court.

That court has no jurisdiction over fuel subsidy.

So government likely will go to court any strike will be declared illegal and any worker that doesn't return to work can be dismissed.

Also NLC is tainted by its decision to declare support for Peter Obi. This will very quickly be characterised as a partisan fight against Tinubu and APC

I see NLC being broken and destroyed permanently if it doesn't back down.
Government has all the tools it has to do this and Tinubu has chosen the perfect time for this battle on day one of his presidency.
Government will use money and force and everything else and will not back down. We saw this after June 12. After months of gragra. Abacha just announced one day
We have seen enough and that was the end of it . If their leaders do not behave they will join Nnamdi Kanu.
Those who need Jones will be employed and NLC members dismissed

It's not about GEJ the clueless but Nigeria & Nigerians. Subsidy is a gonner but it's the method of it's removal that people are against.
Let Dangote & at least one refinery start distribution before you remove it.
God bless Nigeria.
God bless Africa.
Reality

It has been removed already

There is literally no money to pay for it

The government budgeted for it till June 30.
But couldn't raise the money so it is owing NNPC 2.3 trillion

NLC is a PLC it pays tax and royalties to the government and has no business paying for subsidy from its coffers.
The government will have to borrow to cover the outstanding debt

It is just like expecting PHCN to supply electricity and not get paid.

Yes there was a budget but government could not find the money.

That is not NNPC's business . If subsidy must continue government needs to borrow 2.3 trillion to cover outstanding debt and then another 5 trillion for the rest of the year
The problem is that there has been poor communication of that reality to Nigerians

My question is: what of those big men who earn millions as salary every month, plus all sorts of allowances? Let Tinubu reduce every person,s salary to 30k, including his own. Let them cut off all those allowances given to the big men in position. Or must nigeria borrow money to pay their men on top positions so that they can travel all around the world while the masses are suffering? Let them reduce their salaries and allowances first and everybody will know that he mean well for nigerians.
