Good question
It would help the common man by providing basic necessities, e.g Hospital, transportation like the mass transit bus in Lagos and Abuja. Economy of the Nation would be increased if government are sincere about it.
Although, it may be tough at the initial stages.

Nnpcl are still selling old stock but the price changes to help them restock..

Did they not receive money from fg to subsidize the old stock, why selling the old stock at new rate when you have received money to subsidize the product.

Help me ask them. Bunch of greedy useless thieves.

But the current price was determined by nnpcl and government so you have already set the pace.

Although the NNPCL is still selling old stock, the corporation has explained that it needed to sell at the new rate to be able to restock

this is normal in business but with the ordinary man and population in mind they should retain old price or a little above the old price .
the ordinary man is just being used to fund the oil marketers business.

It would not be like this if subsidy was removed after Nigeria has switched from importing fuel to locally producing it.

The billions of naira paid to the satanic cabals would be channelled to the economy and other infrastructural development as time goes on it would ease the tension in the country.

5. Government authorities would, however, be on alert to ensure that citizens are not cheated.

Government authorities will still connive with the markets to cheat Nigerians..

If it's confirmed that the reason why a car knocked engine was cause of adulterated fuel he or she bought, I think the fuel station and sellers will be liable to criminality and that can put them into serious trouble of jail terms.

So relax, these too will be handled.
okay I pray so. I have lost hope in this country since 1999. I thought democracy will liberate not knowing its another doom.

Re: Five Things You Need To Know About Fuel Subsidy Removal by ivandragon: 9:41pm On Jun 04, 2023
Hmm...

BAT was really prepared for this. His control of the mass media is clearly evident as narratives to favour his flawed actions have flooded the media space.

Subsidy needs to go. Agreed. But is it been done the right way & the right time?

If the government has budgeted for subsidy till June 2023 ending, why remove it 1st June?

Also, there are plenty issues to be resolved before we can know the actual cost of fuel subsidy.

1. What is the actual pms consumption in Nigeria? FG says 60mlpd. So is it everyday people fill up tanks? How was this arrived at when as at June, 2015 consumption was under 35mlpd. Has our population doubled since then?

2. FG says porous borders encourages diversion. Who is responsible for securing the borders? So the FG is abdicating its security responsibilities & shifting the financial burden on Nigerians. In otherwords, we are paying for the FG's ineptitude.

3. FG says subsidy is enriching a few corrupt persons. Who are these persons? So the FG is going to let economic saboteurs walk free? So instead of the FG to go after the corrupt persons in the subsidy chain, it rather allows the masses to suffer for its inability to bring sanity to fuel subsidy.

What happens when these subsidy cabal turn into a pms supply cabal? The FG will come up with another excuse?

4. Fuel pricing is tied to FX. Now the FG has messed up the economy but wants Nigerians to bear the brunt. So if FX turns to $1=N1000, the FG doesn't care. It will simply shift the burden of its failure to the masses.

5. What is the FG doing about the multiple taxes & illegal fees collected from pms transporters? Why not sanitise the supply chain & clamp down on these illegal tax collectors whose actions contribute to the increase in fuel prices? No. FG rather shifts the burden to Nigerians.

6. What alternatives have been put in place to cushion the removal of subsidy?

One could go on & on, but it is obvious that those who control the media are hellbent on forcing the FG's unpopular policy down the throats of the masses because they are feeding fat on the handouts from the president.

Removal of subsidy won't stop the government from looting funds and if you think minimum wage is gonna increase, then you can believe a hen can birth a goat. Stop with all this nonsense analysis. All of a sudden, the government now has a change of heart. We'll continue buying fuel at the new rate, you'll continue receiving your old salary without any increament, you'll forget about this subsidy ish in 6 months time and the government will keep looting funds. One last thing, the suffering is gon' get intense
