Even if its significantly less than 10M, its still quite high. Charging money to worship God might sound somehow to some people. Fine, we have to consider transport, feeding and other things but when its running into millions of naira then you are just after your own pocket and not the purpose of Christianity.

These gospel artist see gospel music as an alternative to secular music. And what these gospel artist do behind the scenes will shock you. Na them dey musangwe pass.
the post says significantly less than half of 10m...ie less than 5m...kapish?

When the problem comes they will equally run to the church.
How much do pastors collect from each counseling? Greediness and covetousness are the major problems we are facing in Nigeria by charging the church 10m will now determine the level she will get to in life.
Selling your gift back to God is totally sacrilegious provided is having the name of God attaching to it. If God should charge you for breathing how much can you pay.
Please madam amend your ways before it's too late

Which means she charges #9 million per show.

She only returned the excess #1 million.

Abeg just mind your business this morning.
She charged from one church and returned the excess (her tithe) to another church.

No be the same church all of them be, or the Rev Fr, that reported that she charges #10 million, was he lying?

No amount of money is too much for a Gospel minister. Though the ministeration should not be monetized. Some of them spend sleepless days and nights of fasting and praying to power their ministries.

The writer of this piece is arguing with himself. All this epistle is unnecessary if you are telling us Mercy came to your church and you paid her a little less than five million naira. We don't need to know all these. What's the essence?

The noise about her getting paid N10m was so vibrating. She decide to vibrate her decision by publicly announcing it so as to halt the noise.

The Bible said "The gift of a man shall make a way for him." It's not bad she's charging. If you don't like it then move.

When it comes to gospel ministers they want them to minister almost free but when the likes of Davido and Wizkid charge that amount, it's okay.

How do you expect them to feed if she doesn't charge. If it's easy to get a song from the realm, you too enter studio and sing.

Louder sir

It is not good for a gospel minister to be charging fee to minister inside the church but modern-day churches are guilty of always trying to entertain men rather than praising God. What happen to talented singers in their church, why not allow them to minister?

Mercy Chinwo is free to charge outside the church events like weeding, housewarming, birthdays etc.

So you will pay Mercy Chinwo 10 Million and tell your church choir to be content that they are singing for God.

I am curious to know if she and other gospel musicians pays taxes out of the money they receive, how is this determined I think its fair that government receive their taxes as well, and its worthy that correct amount of taxes are remitted to government.

This is image laundering and whatever the intent is, God knows best

we are not against charging to sing in churches, it is necessary for mobilization and logistics and others but let it be moderate.

The problem started with the church itself, Pastors monetizing the gospel. Prosperity preachers using every means to collect money from members. These pastors live large and plant businesses everywhere using their name and son's names. what do you expect the music minister to do then? He or she will device means to eat from the tithe and offering which the church keeps collecting without accountability. Only God can judge the intents of our heart,

seriously, na only few church members go make heaven, most church leaders and ministers will hardly make heaven.

As good as it sounds....

How many souls have been won by this gospel artistes on stage...

Why are ministers who laboured in the word, giving messages that turn life around not being paid huge like this songs ministers?

You can hardly see a teacher or pastor who goes about teaching or preaching other people's messages but our songs ministers sing other people songs, rebrand it and charge for it.

If I were to be a pastor, If you charge me N10,000,000 it comes with a condition that through your songs, the lame must walk, the blind should see and there must be at 1,000 NEW CONVERTS.

Pastor's need to start setting KPI's for these song ministers.

If we are paying you, you work for your money!

We are paying for your services, we have expectations of deliverables

Good morning, what the OP tried to achieve was to separate "ministry" from "work." I must tell you the simple truth, if she charge 10m for a ministration (show) here in Nigeria, it's unfair and exorbitant because the Church (branch) will definitely not have such to pay.

I'm a Winner and NO music minister will come to Papa and charge 10m, they would always bow in appreciation and not being specific on amount to be paid. Dunamis will not hold All Nation's worship and pay 10m each to over 20/30 music ministers. God help the Church.

That's her stand and her choice, Moreover music is her profession and that's where she generate her income from...so she is not the only gospel musicians if her Price too high, just move one to some else...

And she will be careful the next time she want to make outrageous demand from a Church for ministration. All Churches are not equal financially and she can't go to Papa or Pst Adeboye and be specific on her pay for ministration.

She should be paid but she must consider the capacity/capability of the Church before her price tag.
