This government lacks emphaty. How will low income earner buy clothes? Besides, the quality of some of the okrika clothes are far better than the so called ready made clothes.

They want to make life bitter and not better.

They will never do anything that will make people smile.

Even abroad, there are thrift shops, really big ones where people go to buy gently used (second hand) items. Visit these places and you'll find that people from all walks of life patronize them.

We like chasing shadows. Second hand clothes is not the problem of Nigeria but the leaders like Buhari who ruled with a scepter of corruption, tribalism, nepotism and religious sentiment.

Please let the poor breath!

Used clothes are sold everywhere in the world. Stop making it look like Nigeria is the worse place on earth.

These strange and wicked policies are nauseating.

I repeat, let the poor breath.

It's not even about the poor. The best quality are usually in second hand. All these poorly made clothing from china and Vietnam can't match.

They will be talking about the Poor when they want to go on strike..
Yet they wouldn't think about the true well-being of the poor.

They want to import high-end clothes of N50k
But they plan to Bann small clothes that would be sold for N500..

They should deal with poverty first.

This is actually ridiculous. One of the key strategies to sustainability as indicated in SDG is REUSE. The Nigeria as a country is amongst the countries that signed a pact to the SDG 2030.

The point is , to help protect the planet from climate change , it's important to encourage reuse of used clothing , electronics and other items. That way it will help limit industrial production which has a direct impact on the climate through release of carbon.

Nigerian govt lacks foresight on this regard. If they are trying to discourage importation then it will make sense due to emssion from transportation.

Don't mind this man. Where are the new and affordable long-lasting clothes sold in nigerian market?

Even tokunbo sevice shoes are the best when compared with new ones. Almost everyone uses tokunbo. How many times has the government announced it's ban? I remember Obj's tenure.

They still find ways into the maket because customs at the borders allow it.
