Obi should go and prepare for 2027 election. He was used to catapult Tinubu to victory but he is just too dull to realize it. Nigeria don't need dull people who can't even understand basic political permutations to preside over its affairs.

Yeah... Nigeria is doing great having elected people like Buhari for 8 good years!

Such a fast developing nation!

It's so strange that a nation with such amazing leaders has citizens fleeing in droves year in, year out!!! Quite strange!!! cool

How is he wrong?!!

Many people abroad will return if there is better or more enabling environment for them to do so...!

Since this Japa syndrome started, what have your elected leaders done to stem or mitigate it other than stupidly trying to sabotage the emigration?!! What strides have they taken to improve the economy, working conditions, and security of lives and properties?!!

If a good leader does the needful, Nigeria will improve all round... Those intending to 'flee' would no longer feel the need to, and some living abroad will begin to find their way back into the working system!!!

This is no lie... It has been seen in several formerly underdeveloped nations in Asia and Middle East!

Many of you youths need to reason better abeg!!! Wetin sef?!! SMH!!!
you've ended up saying nothing.... How is d japa syndrome an advantage to Nigeria? U r still supporting my argument... If u r going abroad to gain knowledge and u come back to Nigeria to utilize d knowledge then it's fine... But how many people r coming back?

Anyday anytime twice on Thursday
1)All educated youth in Nigeria are aware...
Name two states or region with educated, Liberal, intelligent, enlightened and exposed people
Definitely it will be lagos and Abuja right!
And obi won those states
2) the three major contestants were from the three major region...atiku(hausa), tinubu( yoruba), obi(igbo)
So the South South were in a better position to choose because no one among the contestants were their brother....and guess what the South South chose obi
3) osun state is the home of tinubu and yet tinubu lose am because osun state is some how seen as the most educated place in South west...which means tinubu is not even supposed to be among the contestants..not to talk of becoming the president
So if you are a Nigerian youth and you can't figure out this simple truth then your education is a total waste and you need to collect your school fees from any tertiary institution you finished from

Most of ur response on topics in this forum are always top notch I wonder sometimes how a guy like you with such great interlect still prefers to be referred to as a yahoo boy I don't understand it.

Most of them don't even have sense to begin with.

Majority of the thriving businesses, small scale firms and organizations making wave in Nigeria today were founded by Nigerians who once lived abroad.

As a Nigerian, for you to become really successful in entrepreneurship, you need to have this abroad experience, plus the financial muscle it also gives you.

Many Nigerians living abroad own businesses and companies in Nigeria. Some retire back to Nigeria after some years to reinvest the money they earned abroad in Nigeria.

Majority of Nigerians living abroad own one or two landed properties in Nigeria, which grows our real estate sector. In fact, it is Nigerians abroad that's making Nigeria's real estate sector to boom.

What about the huge documented and undocumented FOREX they send back to Nigeria which has been the backbone of Nigeria's economy sustenance despite the useless successive Presidents we have had?

Only fools condemn Nigerians migrating abroad. It creates more opportunities for those in Nigeria. It is what has been sustaining Nigeria's economy for decades if not Nigeria would have collapsed like Bangladesh since.

Forgive me Sir....but you are wrong. People have no intention of returning. Foreign countries benefit from the taxes these people pay and use the money to better their society.....only recently Ghana realised they no longer had enough nurses for their own population because of Japa syndrome.

Also anything Bill Gates says is good.....know that it's bad for Africans.

So many Africans are cleaning old Oyibo people's Ynash and paying them tax for the privilege.
Not true, people are willing to return if the government of the day do the right thing. He said it that until when we take our seriously things will not change

You are correct, when an ought to be president is supporting "japa" syndrome i wander how clue he is for advocating such ideas "japa" of any citizens indicate red light for that country, instead of thinking of sending them to acquire more know and come back to apply it on citizens.

It is currently sad that most of our talents are leaving due to poor leadership from National to state! That is a bad situation that no one can immediately rectify!

However, Peter Obi is saying that all is not lost (Emphasis here)! That if the nation's leadership does its damn job and improve things all round, those abroad will or can be enticed back to support and help grow the nation to higher standards!

Peter Obi is speaking futuristically! And he cited relevant and true examples in Asian nations.

You need to Google how much nigerian diaspora are injecting into nigeria. You need to know how much positive has come from knowledge of the nigerian abroad. Put safety in place many of us at over 50 are coming back. Do you know investment from the ones that have been outside for over 20 years.

Those who did not vote for or support ur candidate are not less educated than u are, they're just "protecting their own interests". Hope it won't take u a lifetime to understand this concept.

Good! You're slowly learning to present your opinions without suffering their subjects to denigration.

Now back to the topic, I can't say why the man chose to live in Lagos as I am bereft of such cause. However I would like do a comparison, given the metric you chose to evaluate "good" governance, I would like to know why Tinubu constantly frequents foreign hospitals for health reasons despite "developing" Lagos... Are there no world class hospitals in Lagos to remedy his situation?
