The Ukrainians aren't better than the Russians militarily. They just have a better motivation to fight. The Russians don't.

The Oligarchs would gladly supply him with cash. Also, he will have at his disposal lots of weapons from surrendering soldiers or simply abandoned arsenals.

I forgot to add support from the Ukrainians who can help him break the resolve of the Russian soldiers.

Can the takeover be as easy as that of the Taliban takeover of Kabul? The Russian soldiers have zero motivation to fight. They simply want to go home.
