I understand we are all together for the challenge before us regarding subsidy removal and the economic consequences but how are we being helpful to those we can?

Where I went to buy Akara this morning, one elderly woman met me there and begged for N50 to buy salt. I wanted to buy Akara for N200 but I had to buy for N100 and handed over the remaining N100 for her.

Of course, it's not an entitlement. Any body who feels entitled to your money is not wise.

We all need each other. #Truth

Else, no need crying or typing RIP if someone dies.

Let me spread it on how you can do.

There are many ways to help people at this challenging economic times such as handing over small cash to someone for transport to work/school, lifting someone with your ride, help for health/medical need, handing over "small thing" for the day/week(end), buying someone breakfast, lunch or dinner, airtime/data, cups of rice, beans, Garri, Maggi, paying for someone barbing/hairdo, and so on and so forth.

Be of help to someone next to you.

Meanwhile, the inconsiderate and callous drug man who put Nigerians in this dire condition is still moving around bragging how he told his associates that subsidy was gone and they thought he was joking.

May God help Nigerians

I don't like exposing what I've done for people, because it's an everyday something for me......*Oga, thank you,may God bless you* I feel okay when I hear this from people whenever I help.....And the funny thing is that anytime you help a fellow human, God always help you in a thousand folds....

Very true. I am a witness to that. Whenever I give the little I can, something happens and I get back in multiple fold.

Truly, blessed is the hand that giveth than taketh.

I can't help anyone this period, except the person is a very close family member. We must all feel the effects of our tribalistic voting patterns together.

If I have extra cash, I will burn 🔥 it. I won't help anyone.

Bro, forget that thing. We know who we voted and who Yakubu declared as the winner. That one shouldn't stop you for helping people.

Though I'm not a Nigerian and I can't relate to what you guys are going through, but most of the people I've helped in the past made me regret it... For example:

1. There was one girl I went to high school with, but unfortunately things didn't go well for her.. She kept on telling me of how she wished to go to college... I finally made a plan and l managed to get her bursary application forms and recommended the college she could go to... She seemed happy, only to find out a year later that she gave those bursary application forms to someone else and she recommended this same person to go to the same college I recommended for her.

Now the same girl is well educated and drives a nice car, my high school classmate on the other hand is still stuck in one place and has been working at a tavern for years now... Each time she sees me, she keeps telling me of how she wishes to go to school and I just pretend like I didn't hear anything.

2. Another relative of mine who's in her 30s and is a single mother of two has been unlucky in getting a job to a point that her sisters have even started mocking her because they're working and married... Fortunately, I know some security guards from back in varsity because I like socialising with everyone from different career levels, it also happened that I had their manager's contact details even though I've never contacted him before.

One security guard friend of mine assured me that the manager is a good man and I can contact him and make some inquiries... I did and he was so nice and gave me all the information that I needed.. I then went to my relative and asked her what she thought about training for a security job and she accepted it... We made some arrangements and I managed to get her a security training center nearby and she didn't seem to have a problem with it.

It was only during last minutes that she changed her mind and told me that she wanted to do the training in another province.. I was shocked that she didn't tell me earlier, but I gave her the money for transport and the one for her fees, not knowing that she took advantage of my generosity to go and finally stay with her long distance boyfriend.

I'm still in my 20s, but here I was trying to help a whole 34 years old single mother of 2 just so at least her siblings could stop mocking at her, but she instead chose her boyfriend over her life and children... Sure, a security job only pays about R8000, but it's better than receiving nothing... The manager called me months later to inform me that there was an open vacancy, in case my cousin had went for the training, I just had to come up with a lie.

And this cousin of mine still has the guts to call me asking for airtime and money, but I'll never even give her a cent.

Sam, you're kind and generous.
Don't regret your acts of kindness.

If you don't mind me asking; what is the exchange rate of one USD to the Rand?

One USD is the same as 18.65 Rands.
