In a transformative world where technology is solving societal challenges, societies are driven by top notch technology and finding solutions to all human problems in this modern era. It sounds archaic to suggest that one should prefer old ways to new innovative ways

I didn't watch because she would end up talking trash just for the subs or perhaps I got no data grin

Look around you and you'd see where our ways have kept us, took us or gotten us. Our ways might have helped centuries back but not anymore. That begs the question: Are we primitive? Oh! Yes. We are a definition.

I don't mean it like someone up there painted. Eating eba without or with a spoon...

undecided

Pan-Africanists continue to lie to themselves in order to justify their centuries of backwardness. Being unambitious ultimately led to the easy colonization by the French and the British and now, more than 60 years after decolonisation, the continent is yet to fix their problems - tribalism, corruption, extreme poverty, incompetent and greedy leadership, lawlessness and severely undereducated masses not to mention the fact that the lack of ambition still plaguing the continent till date.

I mean, why do you live in modern houses and not your "aesthetically appealing" round huts? Why do you use smartphones rather than depend on town criers? You don't prefer your ways, you simply lack the capability to evolve and make it better by yourself!

IboHausaYoruba:
The western world will not respect us and will always see us that way until we are able to sustain and bring values to the table.

Think long and hard about this... What do you think any country on the African continent would be able to "bring to the table" in the next 2 centuries? Africans elect populist leaders who have no plan to develop their respective countries and when they're exposed as failures, they suddenly take a pan-Africanist, anti-west stance and soon become continental heroes - like the classic case of Museveni in Uganda.

spy24:
Mother Africa...

The best place on earth... Every other place is synthesize and too rigid, true freedom is in Africa

I'd argue there's more freedom in the west. Hell, there's more freedom in North Korea but ok undecided

CNN and BBC have made the Westerners believe that. That's why I hate that useless movie: "Woman King", like why Africa of all places??

People believe that the Westerners are the most educated, but I believe that they're the most ignorant! They still believe that Africa is a country, we wear animal skin as clothes, dwell in mud houses, use bow and arrow as weapons, etc. All thanks to the news media and fake movies...

people tend to forget culture is subject to change.

a rational society apply these changes based on utilitarian values (how beneficial it is to the average person).

if a majority of cultural group decides to change something, it will change; whether you are in support or not.

All major cultural groups are changing in Nigeria due to globalization. No matter how you try to demonize it, it is a natural response to be able to better adapt in a globalized world.

Seeing people who use cutlery to eat eba and soup laugh at those who use bare hands to enjoy the same meal is the perfect display of post-colonial slavery.

Swallow, as we call it, is a food type unique to Africa because no other race swallows food without chewing it.

Anyone who considers as inferor, primitive or crude people who use bare hands to eat swallow needs to treat a disorder called neocolonialism.

I guess sacrificing humans and giving birth unnecessarily is among the African ways. Four Asian tigers emulated the west and that is what made them who they are today. Africans can keep wallowing in ignorance and demanding respect. No one gives a flying Bleep.
