Very unserious country blessed with useless citizens and leaders.

Imagine what's topping our importation list. I think the govt should ban the importation of unnecessary things like human hair, creams and the likes.
I know very well that we can survive without those nonsense materials.
Mugabe did something similar and the Chinese sponsored a coup to remove him.

You need to be careful with protectionist policies.

In Guangzhou, China they have specific affordable brands and qualities tailored for African market. Once you mention Nigeria, they redirect you to where Nigerian importers source their products.

Yes. What they sell mostly in Nigeria are low qualities.

There are so many things we can export from Nigeria to other countries, but the government needs to do a lot before we can achieve that.

Let there be a 24-hour power supply across the country; let there be security for lives and properties, especially for people in rural areas, so people can farm. Let the government make exportation easier with less unnecessary stress

Until Nigeria get it's power sector up and running nothing meaningful will come out of any purported government intervention programs targeted at the manufacturing sector of the economy. A huge chunk of the cost of manufacturing of goods in Nigeria goes into power generation making our locally manufactured products uncompetitive.

The economy of this country is the hands of NCS...
Are they actually do the needful? Corruption had eaten up all the sectors in this Nation...
It is what they wanted you to read you read...

How many farmers are into cotton plantation again in this Great Nation of ours?

The chanas are exploring banana and plantain stems and using it to produce textiles materials.

And who are those that patronises them? Your people obviously. Without a willing buyer there is no market. Importation thrive where there is no local production. And there can't be production without power(electricity). Let the government fix the power sector...

This is why we will forever remain indebted to China and why they are willing to give us more loans because they know Nigeria is the biggest market in Africa for them and would want us to continue importing products from them.

The moment Nigeria wakes up and begin to revive it's export sector, start producing and embarking on aggressive industrialization, the likes of China will fall

Ban it for a year and let's see if life won't go on

We tried doing it in Osun State in 2020, but coronavirus lockdown, heavy tax by Buhari, no electricity having to spend huge amount on diesel killed the business
